Melee splash with Increased AoE

why? minions are part of the skill, the skill gained extra effects. both splash and ele prolif are AoE effects. status effects applied by minions however do not get benefit from your passives.


I found this thread while looking for minion interactions, so thanks for being complete!

So, if I had Melee Splash linked to SRS, and I had another support gem to increase splash radius, that would help, but Increased AOE passives would not apply because minion attacks are not my own. Therefore, if minions are my primary damage there is no point in investing in AOE radius. Good to know!
Something to consider (don't see that this was mentioned) Your weapon range +1, +2 etc... Since the radius generates from the target you are hitting and not yourself. By attacking targets and generating radii and automatically acquiring new targets as they die with multistrike, I would think being able to "reach" these new targets which are progressively farther than the previous targets and generating a new radii around these more distant targets is more important than "increasing the area of effect" of melee splash which already has a significant increase in radius with quality. Basically if you really want to increase "area of effect" of a melee splash attack you need to increase weapon range.
