Nah. Free For All is the only loot system that should exist.

" if ggg had the balls to make the game "real multiplayer" again, it could work. they would have to make sure a single player can't carry a party of 6 safely through endgame maps though. i have little hope, nowadays all their minds are stuck at principles of single player games like giving players overpowered "endgame items" as rewards (BUT MAKE THEM RARE!!!1111! so that only 20% of the player base have them). age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

" it was a big incentive to make a friend in game or join a guild it was a way good players could be generous loading up on MF to help everyone in a pub game by not looting etc. or if you were just following, it was the price you paid. and it was a good deal - so people were more helpful. it was a reason some people were jerks - but if you asked politely, sometimes they would give you the item you wanted - I always did. essentially the loot minigame was a good example of chaos that occurs in 'game theory' different players adapt strategy's for making allies and sharing. and that how you knew them. it made pub games addicting - meaningful. it was the magic of the d2 legacy. those loot timers were terrible though! item locking and the named stuff - no wonder they gave in... should have left it pure FFA IMO. |

guys don't forget that there are a lot of friends that play together for fun... not for xp leech/boost.
if i play with my wife since the beginning my goal is to level tougher not to take advance taking all the good loot. to me, d4-like drop is always the most easy/fair drop style: every player gets his loot. |
