Trade system pissing me off and a comparison to diablo
In the last week that I play the league I basically stop responding to all trade whispers. I'd happily sell for the price listed, but why would I interrupt my gameplay, consume a portal to some endgame boss or well crafted map etc?
When I first started playing a decade ago I would jump out of gameplay for any 1c trade. These days I'm probably ignoring trade requests less than 50c unless I'm already in hideout. If a request is for something that holds it's price (e.g 10 maven writs for 15 div) then I'll also ignore unless I'm in hideout. I'd rather be killing monsters than playing path of trading, and I'm fine if that means I lose trades, but an automated system would be a lot better for me personally. I mean why can't I have a 'shopkeeper'? Why can't the trade complete when I 'accept' the trade of an already listed item? Why do I need to go to hideout and risk scams / negotiations / dipsh offers of chaos instead of divines / portal stealing etc? And when I'm the buyer and I want to make 21 1c trades to get a set of divination cards? Buy 1M yellow juice? Good Luck. Most currency like items are terrible to trade, you can message the first 50 ppl in the list and still not get an answer, and to make it worse the trade site will speed limit you if you message people 'too quickly' so you can't just spam message down the line until you get an answer. Trading in PoE 1 is terrible, but we live with it because the game is good. We don't need to extract 99% of value from our drops to make our builds viable. |

" Do you even remember what happened to the trade system in D3 after a year? Selective memory much? It wasn't just the real money, that was done away with quickly and replaced with a non-real money auction house. But even THAT was scrapped not too long after because. IT RUINED THE GAME. It literally killed the entire game before year 2. And then for YEARS, every item became soul-bound and trade was removed (not sure if it exists now). If you are comparing PoE trade negatively to a game that effectively was destroyed by its trade system and is now regarded as the best example in modern history of what NOT to do with trade....well then there is something wrong with your fundamental argument. Trade in PoE is not perfect. But it is worlds better than any of the Diablos. I will take a healthier game environment over easy trade any day of the week. Also, good luck doing anything in standard, there are so few players down there. Skip the first few rows of trades in a league, and every trade is near instant. " Last time i played d3, the only way to trade was if you did that content with that person. Items will have base stats based on your class so they may actually be useless unless your friends use the same base stat as you. Int/dex/str d3bad, d4ok, poe great. I think a lot of the people just have no idea how good they have it. |

Sorry to say that to the Diablo Fanboys, but trading there is even much worse than in PoE.
While I whisper multiple people in PoE, I am able to get said materials/items after a while. In Diablo 4 (2 shitty 3rd party trading sites), you must be happy if you get your item after a Week, if even! You cannot even filter online only and you see 90%+ Listings that are 20-40 Days old! Good luck getting the exact item that you need. Because it either doesnt exist, or its a player that hasnt been online for quite some while. Since I did not play that much PoE this League, I blasted 3 Chars to 100 in D4, trust me, trading in PoE is a lot better than in D4... Still not good in PoE but its day and night. |

" It was made by a small indie company, no way they could get it right the 4th time. :) The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
