" Q and E are to use. Or maby pad? I think i will try PoE2 on pad. I hate piano player type so i make my build as least active as it is possible. I call it "lazy gameplay". |

They said in a recent interview you won't be playing flask piano in PoE2, just expect the game to be totally different from the current one you are playing now.

" I'm thinking this as well. Having to left-hand a dozen keys is a serious step backwards in gaming at this point. If controllers and M&K can't be reconciled across one gaming platform by now then fuck it I'll just take up gardening. |

you guys don't have the vision
obviously everyone will acquire mageblood so the flask buttons won't be a problem, just rebind the 5th flask to space bar or shift problem solved now seriously: you guys are overreacting...if anyone here played any FPS or 3rd person game we don't press all the buttons at the same time if not how ppl could use "lean" or change weapons mid-fight in these games? this is not street fighter noobs Last edited by Dragoon_Diver#5241 on Jun 9, 2024, 9:25:28 AM

Are you saying that in order to run “forward” you need to press W and D, since we have isometry, or what?

I think WASD is one of those things that might actually feel good for most people, but will have a negative impact on the game as a whole with time.
Sure, "you can still use click-to-move", but when the whole game is being designed and balanced around using WASD, it's no longer a "real" option. Monster movement, monster damage, monster skills, level layout, skill balance... EVERYTHING is being affected by balancing and designing the game around WASD. Personally, I have NO interest in playing a Hack'n Slash game using WASD. Will I try PoE 2? Yes. But I will leave and close the door permanently the moment I feel "handicapped" by using click to move, be that unfairly timed monster mechanics, skills or things like that. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" This is something that not nearly enough people seem to realize about the WASD shift. WASD movement + mouse aim is such a vastly, objectively superior control scheme in terms of active damage avoidance that once it's in the game, every boss HAS to be balanced around it and the game will be nearly unplayable for click-move players. Now, some people incapable of critical thought might have a kneejerk reaction to me saying that, so I'd like to ask that before you post an emotional reply telling me how wrong I am to just take a minute, go over to youtube, and find literally any clip of people playing Enter the Gungeon. The stuff you have to dodge just to beat the FIRST LEVEL of that game is harder than any mechanics in any of the uber pinnacle bosses currently in Path of Exile, because it HAS to be to make that game a challenge. Shooting while moving, strafing, stutter stepping, etc really do give you that much of an advantage over click-move. It's the equivalent of 99% dodge+evasion chance on your gear for free, because so much less will actually be able to hit your character. So while GGG are saying that click-move isn't going away, and they might TECHNICALLY be telling the truth, it's not entirely honest when the fundamental boss design has to exist around WASD trivializing the entire game. |

Eh, I play SSF and people are more than happy to say "you made the choice to do something that makes the game harder, deal with it".
I'm sure the POE community will prove to be capable of taking its own advice in a calm and mature way. I'm sure people will just acknowledge the choices they make and set their expectations accordingly. |
