Think they want us to play with a controller instead of mouse and keyboard.

I used to play d2 with all 16 hotkeys (started with assassin in LoD). That only increased with WoW and then some extra. Muscle memory isn't something you develop in a day.
In my case, I added more hotkeys one by one. It's a bit like learning to type. You do a lot of practice after learning a new key and it stays with you. I bind my WASD keys to RDFG as it gives me better keyboard access. But nowadays, I'm more interested in simpler builds that can be played with mouse only. |

It's not like you'll be forced to play using WASD, the mouse is here to stay. Last edited by Whai_GGG#0000 on Jun 8, 2024, 7:47:17 PM

I've played a few isometric games that use WASD and multiple skill / utility hotkeys.
One called Revenaunt was even an ARPG with great ambition but not quite the tech. The one thing I worry about is melee with this type of control scheme. Being able to back peddle and circle strafe is huge for ranged characters. Most of these isometric games make melee beefy, have high gapclosers, sustain, counters and CC to compensate for this. I am just hoping they remember to bind a stop moving command.
And make wasd optional, most arpgs that have it that I have played have done it poorly. Have fun early adopters because it is going to be rough. |
