Update : 6L 1H items is still in super mass production, and there is literally tons on trade. Anything to be added - please let it be from the Support, since the game goes in 2 ways from this point:

1. Everything deleted goes restored right now, and everyone leaving happy.
2. Delete everything 6L 1H which existing, and prepare the game to be marked as perfect joke and serious players to double cross you.

You are probably played D2 just from YouTube videos.

I still have my original Necromancer from game launch. He's 99. From cows before the nerf. To this day I still play Diablo 2 several times per month.

You are currently referring one of the Maphack team, so I am pretty much familiar with D2 let say..

I never cheated. Which is why I still have my original characters and accounts. To this day I have large caches of pre-patch (level-less) unique items and SoJ - gambled with the Nagelring and Manhald Heal mechanic - as well as scores of impossible prep-patch item mods. Classic is a ghost town, and my Hardcore characters are lonely - but Ladder and Standard LoD still fills games fine after all of these years.

D2 lost nearly 350.000 players in the wipe.

And I chuckled and dearly enjoyed watching all of the cheaters over the various years getting their accounts liquidated.

You see - players who cheat cause more problems than they're ever worth. The map-hacking scum speed-rushing meph and Threshsocket, the auto-target hacks in dual rooms, the botting creeps, socketed uniques in standard pre SoJ recipe, the Iths, the Double-runewords, the duping (and the rust-storming of said dupes lol... LMAO). The jackals crashing servers because their i.p. chain didn't generate an Ani... oh fear not... I've seen the garbage come and go.

Yet I remain playing my original 4 accounts, and those people are banned. And I'm glad they are in the same way the trash-man coming to get my stinky garbage every week pleases me. Cheaters are garbage, in case you missed the metaphor.

Idk man.. but Your idea PoE to loose practically 80% of the players is rather dumb. Isn't it ?!

This makes no sense. Banning cheaters in Diablo II actually helps blizzard.
It reduces server load and gets many of these contemptable louses to purchase more digital copies of the game.

PoE in contrast, has a very different business model - and regardless of that, I am completely fine with any and all cheaters getting screwed. They should get banned. They deserve to lose all their ill-gotten gains.

Naturally, I don't think people who were greedy enough to buy very obviously bugged items deserve to be "banned." But they have absolutely have nothing to cry about when their clearly broken items get turned into ash.

At the price point these broken were selling at, anybody buying them knew the game well enough to know these things were bugs. That's the nice thing about a high value - it screens out the majority of the people who didn't know better.

Bugs get corrected. This is a good thing. Cheaters get spanked. This is obviously a good thing.

Does this rise to the level of "Iths" or Double Runeword weapons in D2? Probably not in normal cases - it was a busted game mechanic rather than packet manipulation. Thus, the guy who makes 3, 4, or even 20 of these things is not going to cause much chaos. The clowns manufacturing hundreds of them? That's cartel behavior designed to manipulate the markets - and it warrants a very harsh penalty.

You bought bugged items. You accepted the risk they would be fixed. You are not a fresh, new player. You have been around for years and clearly have the understanding of the game mechanics to know these were unintended - thusly, a very very high risk investment given how similar egregiously bugged items have been dealt with in the past - deletion or rendered un-equipable.

You gambled and lost.

Sometimes you play the market, sometimes the market plays you.

your sockets are gone, deal with it.
They made it pretty clear during their news announcement and it was obvious that those items won't stay
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
I lost 200 div for 2x 6link replica dream feathers sword and im not even mad about it. Its the Gamba of poe to know what stay or what is lost even in standard. Like charmed and TWWT on affliction league. Sometimes we win and sometimes we loose. Get over it. I’m glad we had more gem socket for a week. I could min-max even more my build. That was truly amazing and it released some socket pressure especially for my melee build. Nobody’s knew if they let in stay as relic like crucible tree in std. We risk it and we loose. but the joke is you lost 2 mirrors on it and cry about it. Stay sane exile.
At the moments the kids which believe that they are whiteknights and start using kido expressions like "Gamba" and etc to justify one clearly extortion and stealing greatly accompanied by laughing in the face of the player by the devs - probably it is time to leave behind this game.

There is no more trust in PoE. Playing it - having those "legacy" items, items which is hard to obtain, super OP expensive things, which is ultra rare, or not-anymore possible to create WAS one of the things PoE had.
A flavor which lacked in the other games.

PoE clearly lost this flavor now with this act.
It is not anymore a serious game to invest time and resources.
