HELP! I am stuck with T1 maps....
(Edit: Just took a look at your POB, res looks good now! 3.3k life should be fine for early maps. I don't see much recovery on the build? I guess you are using flask and warcy to res mainly? Some leech might be good if you can get it, low ruthless dmg numbers is not great for leech, but I think some would be good with splitting steel. Bloodrage gem is probably very good if you can find one and a totem. Not surprised Crimson township tricky without regen, most the other map bosses will be easier than that. Getting 3rd ascendance will also help, assume your will take first to strike? If you are still dying to big one shots now that res is fixed, it might be phys damage, particular spell damage. 8k armour should be enough for a while, especially with endurance charges up, as you push further into maps might need something more, like a granite flask. Determ is pretty hard to get but you might find a banner, any of them should be helpful on your build.)
My bad, I see, did not read this part of the thread but makes sense. I can pass on some more relevant information from my ruthless experience. Sorry OP, and congrats on getting to maps. Def save your maps until you are ready to run them, maps drops are probably the biggest limiting factor in ruthless. Can't afford to be bricking maps while building your atlas. Once you do start completing maps, think carefully about your atlas. Map sustain is likely the best option. Masters are pretty good in my opinion (Einhar not so much)(EDIT: Just realized master missions acquisition has changed this league, this advice might be incorrect now, though I guess they are still good). I haven't played since the league change over, so not sure if there was any major changes during the last swap. Patch notes will have the answer, there was some pretty big changes the previous league. Speed farming lower level areas for skill gems is a good strategy in my opinion if you are getting stuck, finding an aura will be massive for your build, don't expect it to be the one you need though, anything will be a big help, use what ever gems you can get. Yes, farming lab will be a good option because of the area lvl, without map cost if you can handle it. If it's too hard do some of the other areas I've mention until you find an upgrade and try again. Enchants being removed is a bit of a bummer but it should be way easy to qual your gems now and that can make a big difference if you are stuck. Having max resistance is not as important as I made it out to be for standard where there's no excuse not to have it. It is probably the main thing that is getting you killed, but getting good res rolls without crafting bench and aura access is tough to do. Holding off on doing Kitava for a bit while gearing can be a strategy, but since you've already done him all good, just work with what you've got, flasks might be an option to help with res if you can find a good one until you get an aura. More life will help, pretty good rolls on your boots and chest, if you can get more great, but capping res might be more important. Be realistic about what your build can do in ruthless, if you're like me you won't want to reroll but if you find something really good or get stuck, a second character can be useful, particularly if it pairs well with your initial character. I don't see anything wrong with your character, tree looks decent, you just need to find some drops, particularly gems, and in SSF ruthless that means grinding. Vendor everything you can gather it all adds up, check ruthless specific vendor recipes, there might be something that helps. Vendoring rare shields is pretty good for alch mats in general, prioritize them and some of the other good vendoring equipment like weapons if your running low on wisdom scrolls. I would recommend clearing an area as fast as you can, even if that means a lower level area. Your not going to be getting higher leveled at lvl77 without maps, so going to lower lvl zones is not much of a penalty at this stage, faster is better, where ever you are clearing the fastest. First time character SSF ruthless is the deep end, you've probably made it further than the majority of people who have tried the mode, especially as their first character, so just keep that in mind. half your gem slots are empty , you should fill them with some usefull gems.
Make your Breast at least a 4-link and place your main skill with some support gems there. Place 2 weapons into secondary weapon slot to level gems there during playing. If maps are too hard just play them in blue and dont alch them. |

I think OP you might need to state RUTHLESS in the post. Everyone wants to help but like me are jumping the gun with standard advice.
Just having a look at the current ruthless atlas. Shaping seas/Shaping skies we're good for me, it does make the content significantly harder, but if your character is now stabilized it does help a lot with map sustain, provided you are not bricking maps. Atlas respecting is actually relatively easy in ruthless, you obviously don't want to waste any currency on it, particularly early, but it might be useful at some point, so long as you are not too locked in to one thing. I think some people go directly for keystones like Unwavering vision. Can't recommend myself because I haven't tried, It also might be hard to respect once you are locked it. Depending how much scarabs are dropping in ruthless that might be an option now, having any extra content on your map is a pretty big bonus. The way content spawns in ruthless is different than from the other leagues, not necessary to know this, but I added a link to the ruthless wiki below as it might be useful. Bold undertaking was also decent for me when I tried it, again this might be a better strategy for latter on since it does make maps harder to clear and you need a lot of points. Grand heists can give some good intermediate gear if you can get one, they were just offering replica and experimental items, don't know if this has been changed at all. I mainly did delve, its just a steady content that doesn't require much RNG to get some extra map drops etc. Though it can start to get hard if under-geared. I didn't find expedition to be as useful in ruthless as standard, but might of just been my experience. No movement skill is one of the toughest thing to deal with. Phasing flask is very useful. Don't underestimate how useful flasks can be as a whole. There's not that many people playing the mode, probably more in league than standard where I was, but the ones you find are usually pretty help in general chat with advice. I think there is some guilds and discord type groups that have been set up if you are looking for advice from people who are playing the mode more regularly. Save you alc and vaals for rolling maps and atlas progression. If are getting stuck use your currency to progress, but you will need a fair bit for rolling yellow and red maps later on. Kirac is extremely useful for atlas progression. There have been some changes to master mission but I think Kirac is basically the same. Purchasing maps from him is usually too expensive, but just the missions themselves are very valuable, think about specking having him on your atlas. There is some randomness involved in getting the missions and reports but once you get them its very helpful. Some bosses are particularly difficult in ruthless largely because of no moment speed so think if you are ready to run them before you do them. Aside from major bosses, I noticed a lot of people having trouble with weaver, but this might be different with the atlas shuffle. Bricking rolled maps feels very bad. You need to build up a base of maps and eventually progress that base to be higher and higher level. If you do get a higher level drop its fine to run, but there is a good chance it will not sustain and you will need to go back to your base. Make sure when you do run the high level it is juiced as mush as you can, and not in danger of being bricked. Bricking maps can happen when trying to progress but it puts you backwards a fair way. If you are chancing any maps prioritise yellow plus or ones that can roll unique, you might get lucky with a unique or rare. Chisel recipe is useful, if you don't know this check the vendor recipes. Not so useful early, but once you have excess white maps and cant find high yellow/red it will be more important, so start collecting them for when you need. Early on running the low lvl maps themselves is probably better than wasting for chisels. Full clear maps and even open chests on your higher lvl maps if you are struggling to sustain. https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Ruthless_mode Last edited by Belegur85#5784 on May 18, 2024, 6:00:30 PM
