Just feels bad. Like coming up with a new way to endlessly run lab to try for a specific transfigured gem or just having to progress gems in general using the lab rather than the years old methods we've become accustomed to. Could have been more interesting if you added more nodes on the atlas passive tree to juice up Lab and actually make it feel like more than just a rush to the end. You bring about some "QoL" and take away others. zzzzzzzzzzzz

... you're playing trade. Just buy the trans gem you want. This is a non-issue.
Having to prog gems using lab? You dont have to, and its just an extra option that is there if you want to use it. Just delve farm for exp and passive map? I didnt do lab to get 20 gems and I am SSF.
Again you're playing trade what are you on about? Just buy level 20 gems.
You think heist was easier to acquire the specific gems you wanted for alt quality? You had to have unusual gems contract to even begin with, not to mention having to get heist all setup. So alt qualities were way harder to get if you were trying to farm a specific one versus Lab.
If you want to farm exp for gems(especially awakened or exceptional's), the same option that has been around for years now, Simulacrum, is cheaper than it ever has been.
You can even buy facetors lenses if you really want as well.

Trans gems are no way near the power of alt gems, and right now if u wanna go for 21/20 gems you might not make it through the whole league. There was no point removing the vendor recipe of skill gems and adding 2/4/8 quality in a lab run.

yeah lol, i was reporting to the "SSF" player's answer above.
That player's comment was pretty much this "its ok you play trade, just spend more now".
I don't understand who would come up with such a comment, unless someone connected to the company or someone that makes money out of it, especially as an SSF player

And if this game was pay to win I bet you'd suggest spending money wouldn't you? I may play on trade, but I only use that as a last resort when I get fed up with farming boring old content from years past. (Which I am quickly approaching) Funny how you suggest doing other content that is just nearly as old (or at least feels that way) in Delve. That content is just as mind numbing.
TL;DR you completely missed my point and even appear to have not read what I said about farming OLD content to gain new items

This post is utterly ridiculous:
Getting the correct trans gem is EASIER than getting the correct alt gem ever was.
The POWER of trans gems is miles ahead of any alt gem, save for like 3 of them. Power being in the total conversion of the skill, enabling many other builds in a better way than alt quality did.
OP and one of the responses sound like someone who.....never played the game prior to 3.23, but felt the need to complain.
Now....gating the trans gems behind Lab is a problem I can definitely get behind complaining about. I f-ing hate the lab with a passion and forcing us to run it MORE is ridiculous.

OP is right. It was a low effort approach by GG to try and make Lab desirable/relevant but it missed the mark. It's just more tedious busy work rather than letting people enjoy creative builds. PoE originally had creative builds as its design philosophy but seems to have abandoned that some time ago.
If the lab is such a great place for gems, why don't we just put all gems there? Transfigured gems are not the same as Heist gems, and even if they were, that didn't make Heist a good approach either.

Heist made complete sense, and still does. On its release, the thematic material was "experimented bases", "relica uniques", "alternate gems"....basically existing items modified in some unique way. THAT is where the transfigured gems should STILL be.
The labyrinth has NEVER been about gems.
