PoE needs a direct-loot league

You cannot say that....1 week into a league.

Pinnacle content is pinnacle content. T17s are essentially the hardest possible content the game throws at you. It's been a WEEK.

To say you are "forced" to do the league content a certain way because of the absolute top content difficulty, is to be completely ignorant of the fact that the average player should NOT be expecting to blast t17s after a week. The game is designed with MONTHS/YEARS in mind for grinding, not a single week.

You just further outlined how this is a PERSONAL issue, and not a league issue. You personally feel that the game is not worth playing if you aren't doing the hardest, most juiced, most profitable content.

this. is. not. true. It never has been. The game is designed for slow, incremental growth across multiple leagues (knowledge growth). It is NOT designed for every single player to be able to get mirror items and blast uber content in a full 3 month league, let alone a single week of that league.

Plus, you NEVER have to "keep up" with anyone else......the game is not a race. It is single player PVE. 99.999999% of the items you need to get to red maps with almost ANY build is (always) less than a single divine. This sense of "keeping up" is a false personal hangup that has absolutely nothing to do with whether league content is objectively good or bad. Even the OP stated that in his response: even trash rewards can still be a good league if the LEAGUE itself is good.

There will ALWAYS be an optimal strategy, meta builds, t0 uniques, BiS items / mods. NONE of that means that you personally have to follow any of that to have fun with the game. It is not "forced" on you, except if your only goal is to tackle the hardest possible content. And if that is your goal, don't expect it to happen in a short amount of time unless you are playing 24 hours a day at peak optimization. If the game "ended" after 1 week (hardest content done), I wouldn't still be here 12 years later.

I can absolutely say that and it is kind of reality sad enough. Back in the old days most builds could be scaled to do engame content, this is just not the case anymore due to the amount of defensive layers and dps needed to do this. Its just not possible anymore beacuse of how different skills work some of them just cant scale defensive layers this way while maintaining the dps needed and their functionality. This has nothing to do with being a week into ladder or a year for that matter, this has to do with balancing the game around the broken builds/mechanics instead of balancing the builds or mechanics themselves. Which brings me back to the point that u now kind of have to use these builds/ mechanics if u want to do the endgame content and to afford these u kind of need an efficient farming method. Im not saying there cant be an optional strategy or meta build but the difference should not be as huge as it is now
