T17's Are Complete and Total Design Failure

I got through about 10 middle modded T17s on non-league HC with my best character from affliction before ripping to a revenant i didn't spot. Primarily I wanted to see how they'd be without the lantern as info for next league as I really wasn't feeling this one.

I think that are manageable, but said character was far beyond most of the regular content in the game so in difficulty terms it felt like an enormous spike overall.

I can't be bothered with longform feedback here but on HC they are fine if you are running a pairing of an overperforming skill and one of the in vogue OP defensive methods - Fourth vow, transcendence, phys taken as ele stack etc.

Any other circumstances I think they are garbage. Now in principle that's OK as aspirational content goes but in PoE's sometimes rich diversity i think its pretty poor. I don't really understand what we as a player group gain from it.

I guess on SC its one more notch on the road to achieve but GGG could get the same result far more easily by gutting a few of the items that prop up every build.

No, absolutely not. What a bad decision.

I've never been interested in fighting ubers. I don't build that well. Its not a skill issue. It is a gear issue. Taking a few looks at what T17's are like, its clear to see that GGG hasn't got the faintest clue on how to deliver a skillful challenge so they just throw a bunch of random multipliers and debuffs at the wall to see if people could clear it.

Throwing revenants into these maps is ridiculous on top of the mods that they have imo. in hc it all boils down to how long you last before you get revenant dd or a rare modifier stacks with the map modifiers bad enough you get rekt in .001 seconds before you realize there is danger.
