The campaign is simply terrible

I agree that the campaign is tedious and too long, it should be maximum 2 hours. It should be done once, and after that it can be skipped entirely.
Upon skipping, players should be brought to lvl 70 and can start in a low level map, with a random skill and each pack of mobs killed grants a skill point until 70 skill points.
Then the regular game starts.
Compared to starting the game when it had 3 Acts the campaign is way better for story/lore.

I have mixed feelings about it far as progression. On one side it's the most I'll swap gear and tweak my setup to be efficient and on the other side it's time waiting to get my full build working.

You get to that point in maps where you're just getting slight upgrades and that can get boring too. I mentioned on another topic of how I wish there was a bit more progression to maps.

This "crafting" long blablah & readreadread & clicksclicks is terribly annoying, bullet in da head, this could be the first league i finally decided to not finish.
Character is lvl 60. And it's always dark shit, deads, ugly monsters,

Sure it can stay ofc.

Players will leave.
Sooner and sooner.

All happy I guess.
A good approach would be to implement a partial campaign skip after reaching maps with your first ever league character.

It could be done in different ways but i like how Last Epoch handles it.
In the first 15% of the campaign you can get a shortcut to endgame gameplay (Monoliths) if you can handle the damage there.

In PoE this would mean either using Delve as a shorcut zone to maps which would be act 4 at earliest or something complete new like an Aspirants trial zone sorts of thingy.
If players beat it (it could maybe be like Descent league with mini boss fights but extra short zones) they can do maps skipping the boring long act 10 slog and get scaled to level 68 with all passives you would normally get.

Would be a maybe good comprosime imo. You dont get insta boosted but play a a way shorter "tutorial zone".

"A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. She hands you a rusty-looking device called the Blood Crucible and urges you to implant it into your body."

Only usable with Ethanol Flasks
PoE2 was going to be one of the alternate options but not anymore.

And say they did the skip the quest-lock on your second+ characters, how exactly are you gonna level up to map level?

Do you want instant level 70?

I don't really care all that much for my personal experience but i do wonder if this won't just cause more problems if those problems aren't addressed before such a system or change is made to the game.

If you already dislike the storyline then you will still dislike it when you have to level up again even if you can bypass the quest-locks.

Yes, unironically i would prefer to have a microtransaction that would be avalaible for purchase after - for example - a week or two after opening a new league. The microtransaction would boost your char to level 60/70 and completed entire campaign.

That way streamers and other tryhards can enjoy their moment of fame being first, and others can enjoy the actual game without the need to play 7 hours long tutorial.
Hello. I absolutely agree. The only reason I don't play PoE is because I have to finish this boring scenario every time.
After creating a character for each league and playing for a few hours, I close the game and never enter it again.
I don't know if the reason why GGG made the scenario mandatory is to avoid missing streamers, but this is one of the biggest reasons why the game cannot spread to large masses. We no longer live in the 90s, the era of games that had no end-game and only a scenario in which we played every difficulty level has long been over.
The scenario section should be optional, those who want to play should play it, those who do not want to can use direct maps or another system, and level up with it.
in d4 you can skip the campaign and go straight into the open world where monsters will scale with your level from 1 all the way to max, if you think you prefer that playstyle then give it a try and see how bad it is

Because d4 way is the only option. I recently played last epoch where you can skip entire campaign by -imagine my shock - mapping early.
