Larian Studios - Standards Raised for Games
Larian is a great developer, So is GGG.
Hard to compare them and i think GGG has more on their plate than Larian in terms of the complexity of the games, Larians games are however more complex than most. I'm not sure what lessons GGG could learn from them but im confident both sides could probably learn something from the other, Larian could be just a little more money hungry though for their own sake. It would be convenient to judge every developer by the best in xyz category but when it comes down to the money and everything else i simply don't think the market and the world in general will allow every developer to take the righteous path forward even if perhaps they want to. The dice do not always roll how you think they will and i'd much rather have a game with some flaws than no game at all xD Edit: look at games like the elder scrolls and their evolution over many years its a combination of decisions they made but also the market forcing them in many contexts to make decisions they would not have had to make if the reward system for creating such entertaining games were a bit more human, From what i have been able to discern from meeting a few developers over the years is that they are often over-worked and under-payed and that has almost nothing to do with the "developers" of the game but someone above them making these things happen in this manner and im not trying to throw shade at those people but somewhere eventually we'll have to figure out a balance between all of that and the final product still being of high quality.
