Everybody talking about the veiled chaos

But what about the corrupting of flasks shenanigan?
Risking to brick it to get 2%, 4% or even reduce quality that will never change?
Who had this "brilliant" idea?
Will anyone ever do it?

People that wanted 30% quality on flasks where already rare.
I confess that I'm one of those that are addicted to balbala's. It's a path hard to come back from. And I kinda liked flasks to 30%...

I will not use it, imagin on a bottle faith, and it brick your flask that costed me 10 to 30 hours of farm lol
its just another thing for the people who are addicted to gambling. the same people will do it who risk losing expensive cards via harvest gamble
for basic magic flasks that we get *flooded* with, its just another currency sink. its fine.

for the unique flasks, its 100% not worth bothering with.
You say all that.....and yet people are corrupting WAY more valuable items pretty darn regularly.

You can bet that there will be players farming unique flasks, corrupting, and selling them regularly. The only question is going to be what the AVERAGE gain for such a player will be.

Ex: if a 30% Corrupted progenesis is worth 10x a normal 20%, but a 10-19% corrupted progenesis is worth .5x a 20% (pretty realistic imo), then with corruption odds you are pretty likely going to still make out like gangbusters corrupting every single progenesis you farm.

I also wouldn't be surprised if, in a league, we end up getting tainted glassblowers.

Players able to interact with the game at this level, who are ALREADY interacting with the game at this level, will be foaming at the mouth for those perfect 30% flasks. Your argument could have easily been copy pasted when they first released corruption ANYTHING in the first place.

GGG just continues down the road of less player agency and less impactful gaming choices and ramps up the exponential climb into being no longer a game but a pure slot machine.

Mark my words at some point POE is slot machine with extra steps and with no payouts (unless you run TFT).

I realize some would argue that point is already here but I think thats disingenuous there's still a great game within POE its just progressively being obscured by out of touch design choices and doubling down on players having less ability to effect outcomes.

Fortunately there's finally competition and more on the way. REALLY looking forward to Rest For the Wicked. and the next couple seasons of Last Epoch might spell the point where I can drift away from POE.

If those don't happen well, generative game design will be a thing in the next couple years anyway, I'll roll my own.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.
i feel like significantly more people will use corrupted + quality flasks than people who used flasks they boosted with hillock.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Check on PoB. The difference between 20% and 30% is very small. Very.

yes people corrupt more valiable itens but because of the potencial rewards.

Where exactly is the reward? The market to those flasks was already small.

Check a base with 30% on trade. Is a couple of chaos

I think it's the opposite.
People mostly wanted some small push in the duration of flasks when their build was not in the best shape yeat. Mostly baçbala's setups.
When the range of possible outcomes is 20 (can reduce by 10), share by a possible 1/2 that can brick the item (that's how other corruptions work), nobody will use it. Even if can't comply brick, just receive the quality brick.
Just think how many flasks you will sacrifice.
If the flasks could turn into uniques, could be different tough

I think on some magic flask it could happen most of them can easily be replaced for basically nothing anyway.

But no way someone is risking a flask that cost multiple divine for like what a second more of duration.
Why am I still here
