You should balance SSF game mode separately from trade.

the funny thing about SSF is back before it was introduced MANY players scoffed at people who asked for SSF as it was rather a masturbatory league where the only purpose is for bragging rights.

as far as i remember people asked for it for quite sometime and begged GGG also saying they dont need the item drops rebalanced for SSF.

now people are asking for SSF to have rebalanced drops?

you know what?

i m up for it. make a new league called "SINGLE PLAYER LEAGUE"

balance the item drops for single players. no trading, no partying. and no way for the character/items to be transferred to any other league

SSF with old harvest and drop rates times 10 would still be several times more challenging then SC trade so no worries there.

For newbies maybe...

Those who know the game would print mirrors with the old harvest. You know you can migrate your SSF characters to Trade, right?

Nobody is forcing you to do trades, you can play SSF in trade league also, except you wont be able to brag about it.

Just disable that option then? It's only there to begin with because of GGGs "everything needs to be tradeable to have value" mentality which imo is a big part of what's wrong in this game. Stuff has MORE value without trade.

Then people who league started in SSF will need to start from scratch if they want to try new builds or complete their challenges in non-SSF.
I'd be fine with that. They could make a "real" SF mode in addition to SSF if this was such a big deal but considering the size of the SSF community and how many of them i'd expect to care about such a drawback i honestly think it's inconsequential.
If you are the type of person who would convert big finds to trade league to make money off of them then you shouldn't play SSF in the first place. Just league start trade league and don't trade until you think it's big enough to be worth it. That way of playing is exactly the same thing as playing current SSF except for the "badge".

I am honestly sick of good things getting nerfed/not implemented because of trade abusing them. There wouldn't have been any reason to butcher harvest like that if they had just made harvest crafts acc bound. 90% of it's brokenness was due to TFT sheningans.

That’s okay, isn’t it? People need to start from scratch if they want to go the other way. Or if they want to try Hardcore, or Ruthless. It’s never been a problem.
I feel like if they balance drops and challenges around one person which is what balancing around SSF would be. A large margin of the community would go to SSF. I would.

You can generally spot people who group in this game because they'll hit 40/40 in 2 weeks.

I don't care that much about drops. Just give me stuff to do that doesn't treat me like a robot.

i completely disagree i think it would be terrible for the game.

its incentivising people to play ssf and stay there, but the longevity of this game is so often tied to the community that is formed from the trade ecosystem.

ssf players dont need increased drop rates, they just need to stop judging their items based on a perception they have from looking at trade players. it doesnt matter where you gear is, theres always content you trivialise, some thats hard and some beyond you. where those lines are really doesnt matter, if your gear level is lower then those levels are lower. it doesnt really matter where they are.

i get people just want more loot but they shouldnt be given it. no matter how much loot people are given they will always just want more, they will filter out 99% of items and then say the game isnt rewarding and they need more items. they dont need it and the cost is that you encourage new players to trap themselves in ssf which for a lot of people will be a dead end where they could have got involved in the community and found so much more to the game in the trade environment.

ill be playing poe2 self found, i do get self found i enjoy it. it doesnt need more loot drops.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

You heard it here first folks: trade shouldn’t exist. Giving people access to other people’s loot as well as their own may seem like a good idea, but they’ll just want more and more. It’s incentivising people to play trade and stay there. People don’t need trade, they just need to stop judging their items based on a perception they have from looking at other players.
