Diablo 2 (2000) had identify all. Titan Quest (2006) had area loot.

They are not core modes. I am asking for GGG to make core mode as it used to be - difficult. There is no extra philosophy to it.

You are literally not reading a word I've typed and just keep repeating the same things. What you want will never happen, or else the game will lose tens of thousands of players. Go play another game and stop living in the past lol, instead of saying "I want the game to be how it used to be"
Knowing GGG there is a big chance for difficulty increase to compensate for power creep, so yes, I will continue giving feedback.

what youre asking for is allready in the game, go play it

Nothing in PoE fills me with more dread than looking at a quad tab filled with unidentified jewels and spamming wisdom scrolls on them. Having a button in stash tabs containing unidentified items that lets you use available wisdom scrolls to automatically identify them would make the experience so much better

100% this

Maybe for you, but sadly not for me. I hope GGG will fix it.

Edit down: I’ll send you PM, cause I indeed went offtopic.

Increasing base difficulty would be a positive thing to do, to make the game harder as it used to be.

Can you explain how removing friction by adding quality of life has anything to do with what you are asking here? This seems completely inappropriate and off topic to me.

But as to your own suggestion: it already exists and it's called Ruthless. I played it a great deal and it is essentially just a harder core game. Give it a whirl, you're done with base challenges anyway. I will be too, soon, and play some R

We don't need an "identify all" function....that is merely a byproduct of a much more serious issue:

we need LESS drops. A run of a map should net you less than 10 rares, far less than a full stash. A single monster shouldn't be showering 100 fractured items in the first place!

They need to do away with quantity extremes, and focus a LOT more on quality. When you juice a map, it should effect the drop itself, not the quantity. For example: sextant mods like "adds fire monsters" should reduce quantity, but make rares more likely to have a "fire" modifier. Using an Abyss scarab should reduce quantity, but make it so rares have the possibility of rolling with an abyss socket. Etc.

Less items, better value = less wisdom spamming and more drop excitement.

Yea, I have to chime in and say that's not even remotely accurate.
PoE has never been an easier game than past few years.

Want to know what happened if you leaped directly at Cobras back in the day? You died.
Didn't side step Moas or Shield knights, Stun locked and you died.
Didn't use cover against Porcupines? You died.

Difficulty of PoE was in the actual gameplay and thinking about your actions. Not just pressing the dash button when an orb floats over. It's devolved into white noise with forced twitch actions.

Far as these comparisons I don't really care. Diablo 2 did things worse than Diablo 1. Did everyone like spamming Baal and Mephito? In D1 that wasn't a thing, the loot was determined by dungeon level. Bosses made little difference. It's something PoE should seriously consider.

No boss is fun after the 20th time killing them. ARPGs are about dynamic adventur & loot.

if i could actually see where everything is coming from with that zoomed in view i wouldnt mind this coming back
other than that its pointless and has 0.000 to do with mechanical skill

having the loot properties hidden creates the choice to either level faster by ignoring it or level slower by picking it , identify and sell it.

it has nothing to do with friction, it's the game itself.

games need to create challenges for the player, in this case it's getting the willpower to ignore items which you obviously don't have.

---

but i give you that, that the game drops far too much of the good stuff, ruthless is the way to go so players value items more than they do now. and ruthless mode is also better for their wrists ;)
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
