Viper Strike of the Mamba

Thanks for your report, I'll pass this on.

Thanks for picking this up, I think it may have some thing to do with an internal "minimum" duration and it makes using sadism support for example really useless

The new transfigured gem does not work as expected.

With a 0.22 second duration and an attack time of 0.4, I cannot apply poison on the second hit of my melee combo animation even though the first poison has already expired.

If I swing, release my mouse button, and immediately swing again, the second hit will poison as expected.

Same problem here.
Have 0.36 sec attack time(with multistrike support), 0.14 sec poison time,
still can't apply poison on the second hit.
It works most of the time when clearing normal packs but when I do expedition like 90% of the hits don't poison and its really frustrating.
From some testing we did, the root cause seems to be:

"Poisons you inflict deal Damage x% faster"
and
"Damaging ailments deal Damage x% faster"

do not reduce the poison duration.

Meaning, a 2 second poison i apply with "100% faster" deals all the damage in 1 second, but the enemy remains poisoned for the full 2 seconds.

Did not test if the enemy actually remains poisoned or if they just remain poisoned for the purpose of "Viper strike of the mamba"
This happens to me with 6ms to 13ms latency, so it's not a latency issue.

From what I can piece together regarding the issue -- poison CONSISTANTLY applying every other attack when attacking consecutively/continuously the same target...

It seems like it's caused by the skill checking whether the target mob is poisoned at the beginning of the attack -- not when the attack lands and poison would be applied.

A test to confirm this with near 100% certainty can be created using a macro which inserts delays between attacks equal to (or very very slightly longer than) the poison duration. This creates a weird situation where using a macro to insert delays between your attacks significantly increases dps. I haven't actually done this, so don't ban me. EDIT: I just had the thought that maybe this can be tested without using macros by modifying windows registry key repeat values (wouldn't affect mouse, just keys)... but maybe not.

For example, using reasonable numbers... let's say each attack takes 0.3 seconds, and poison duration is like 0.15 (by linking sadism + swift affliction). When swinging away on a single target, this bug causes poison to be applied every other swing (every 0.6 seconds for a duration of 0.15 seconds). However, if using a macro to insert 150ms delays so that every attack procs poison, poison would be applied every 0.45 seconds. That's a 44% poison dps increase for using a macro to slow down your attack rate.

It might be possible to do better than that, making the problem even worse... What if it's just the code for continuous (e.g. holding down lmb) attacks that's bugged in this way? Then any delay at all would (1 ms? 17ms for 1 full frame at 60fps? Or maybe double that) would do the trick... and straight up doubling poison dps, so that it then (and only then) becomes equal-ish to what you'd see in Path of Building.
