ULTIMATUM - extremely hard, extremely unrewarding
**A Player's Perspective on Ultimatum**
As an avid Path of Exile player, I've thoroughly enjoyed the game's ever-evolving mechanics and challenges. However, my experience with the re-introduced Ultimatum league in the Affliction expansion has left me with a sense of dissatisfaction. While the escalating challenge and unique gameplay elements of Ultimatum are undeniably intriguing, the overall reward structure and risk-reward balance leave me feeling hesitant to fully engage with the league. The potential to lose all accumulated rewards upon failure feels disproportionately harsh compared to the potential gains. Moreover, the lack of consistent item drops from Ultimatum mobs further dampens the experience. Unlike Ritual, which provides a steady stream of rewards from defeated monsters, Ultimatum's sole focus on the outcome of the challenge leads to frustrating periods of low-reward encounters. To address these concerns and improve Ultimatum's overall appeal, I propose the following adjustments: 1. **Enhance the value of Ultimatum rewards:** Increase the quantity and quality of items obtained upon successful completion of Ultimatum encounters. This will make the risk of failure seem more worthwhile. 2. **Introduce consistent item drops from Ultimatum mobs:** Model Ultimatum's reward system after Ritual, allowing players to obtain additional drops from defeated monsters during Ultimatum events. This will provide a steady stream of rewards and reduce the impact of failed encounters. By implementing these changes, Ultimatum can be transformed into a more rewarding and engaging experience for players of all levels. Feels bad man. I actually invested atlas points into it and now I need to pay dearly to remove them. Just go harvest for easy currency, as always

I run it for Catalysts (ssf btw)
That's what it's there for primarily after all, and it yields more on average than Metamorph did which I am happy about Haven't seen any Inscribed Ultimatums yet but at least so far I have been able to 10/10 each one I found. More testing pending as I invest points into the mechanic. So far I like it. ^^ The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

yeah i got 1 shot by fire mobs when i am RF with 87%(185) fire res. it was only wave 3 or 4 . seems overtuned for what little reward it gives

" Ultimatum is buffed by Affliction same as everything else. If you did Affliction mechanic before, dont even think about stepping in taht ultiamtum circle. |

It's too hard for me. Max 4-5 waves (T16). Other content is much easier. There is 1 Catalyst for that .... Can we please get Metamorph back?

Metamorph was so much better. Even without putting any points in it you could still see where the mob clusters are. And rogue metamorphs? Pure fun. Nice loot explosion after killing a well-juiced one, nothing like what ultimatum offers. Plus trying to take down a big boss is way more fun than avoiding crap
