Ethereal Knives Range
" The range/proj speed is STILL bugged though, it's not just the return that's bugged. Compare the base range and speed between the regular version and the trans version (lingering blades), you'll see it's nowhere close to what it's supposed to be. And the lingering blades version doesn't have extra proj speed on it either. There are two separate (although probably related) issues with the base gem, which have to be addressed. | |

There's a noticeable difference in projectile travel distance and projectile speed between "Ethereal Knives of Lingering Blades" and normal "Ethereal Knives" or "Ethereal Knives of the Massacre". "Lingering Blades" being the fastest and longest distance. Normal and "of the Massacre" "Ethereal Knives" do not return even with +244% projectile speed modifier. Has anyone tested if skill effect duration increases EK's travel distance? EK's gem lost duration tag. Well, I wait for the official statement from GGG on this. UPDATE: I've tested the projectile speed modifier for normal "Ethereal Knives" and projectiles start to return at around +320% increased projectile speed. For +315% they still don't return. At +321% they do return. However for normal and "of the Massacre" version at +320% proj speed it doesn't fire correctly in the cirlcle. Instead it fires in 4 different cones, in different directions (almost like volley support in front and back of you, and multiple projectiles support in 2 sides of you - see the image). EDIT2: To the above: My mistake, because I haven't noticed my wand has a "Socketed Gems are Supported by Level 16 Volley". It fires correctly in a circle ![]() I'll try to record some footage of returning projectiles if I manage to find a working app to do so. Anyway, I still think it's bugged. UPDATE2: Recorded some footage with all EK versions and the threshold for returning seems to be around 250% projectile speed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PB_SEJpmZj8 UPDATE3: Tested if returning projectiles hit the enemy and they do, so it works. I also confirmed with "The Golden Rule" jewel that poison is applied on returning projectiles as well. So all versions hit twice and apply poison twice. Started testing proj speed again for "of the Massacre" version, because 259% from the footage was a lot smaller than 321% I got earlier. My conclusion is that projectile speed depends on the projectile direction relative to the cursor. Projectiles in front of you are faster than projectiles behind you, that's why I've got 2 different results. So for projectiles behind you the threshold is bigger. Also I've found a strange spot in "The Coast" on the ledge and projectiles returning from the water side are flying sharply up. I'll try to record some more of that later. UPDATE4: So the projectile speed variance for "of the Massacre" version seems to be an error in my testing. I'm doing it on "The Coast" and my screen resolution is too small to see returning projectiles. Return point is way above my character and projectiles behind me are simply shooting up off screen.
