How do we know that the Poisonberry tincture works? There doesnt appear to be any graphical change or change on the character sheet when its toggled.
Character stats Poison damage shows the difference.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

think of it thematically

tinctures work by applying them on weapons. for example coating a weapon with poison.

you can then imagine the mods apply to the weapon coating.

thematically you dont slap an enemy with your weapon when you cast a spell.

you can thematically imagine applying the tincture on arrows for bows.

it doesnt make thematic sense that you apply a physical coating to a spell before launching it.

that said i really think GGG should make it more clear that tinctures only apply to attacks with weapons

With GGG this kind of approach never works.

Here in PoE you can be certain about how exactly some mechanics works only if you'll read info straight from developers about it.

And even then you can't be certain.

not too long ago i found out that tinctures also apply to anything that utilize weapon damage, such as ballistas and totems.

to be honest i felt sad finding out about it. players are constantly given less reason to fight enemies themselves.

ahh yes. I was looking at the actual skill, Caustic Arrow, but it shows on the default attack. I would have assumed that meant the tincture only worked when a character made a default attack, not a gem skill attack.

It also shows on the skill/s in character stats.

My guess is that you may have used 'Void Manipulation' as a link in 'Caustic Arrow'. This may destroy all your elemental damage including the Poison derived from it.
