The new Dual Strike is baaaad

Not that anyone plays melee of course, but

"

No longer has 50-107% increased Critical Strike Chance. It now has 60% more Damage with Hits and Ailments against Enemies that are on Full Life (previously 30%).

Quality now provides +0-30% more Damage with Hits and Ailments against Enemies that are on Full Life, instead of 0-20% increased Critical Strike Chance and +0-10% to Critical Strike Multiplier.


Useless against bosses, trash mobs die in one hit anyway.

Can we please change this to literally anything else?

Probably to balance out the huge potential Power Creep added by the new Ascendancies they had to scale back a lot of the damage.

Just looking at the Charm one and being able to add 3 Ascendancy Notables is insane.
Did I understand this correctly: All alternative gems will become regular skill gems once Affliction is released?

how to say 'do not play this skill, ever' without actually using these words.

there are more such 'gems' among the changes. note: Dual Strike was already borderline useless because it relied on first hit for damage AND required dual wielding - both rather.. unsupported mechanics.

i think GGG believes this is 'clear skill' you keep in a 3Link and use something better for single target

but.. melee is socket starved even more so than summoners. and why use 1 good and 1 bad skill if you can use 1 good spell and call it a day?

They had perfect opportunity to fix some garbage skills (like Dual Strike) but somehow they think Tornado Shot and Dual Strike have similar performance

The developers of path of exile don't play path of exile. This becomes more obvious with every change they make, and this is the main issue with western devs and games anyway.

Just checked poe.ninja for main skills in Ancestor league

Tornado shot: 10290
Dual Strike: 14

Clearly Dual Strike needed this nerf, some people were still using it!

This'll teach 'em!
Divine ire gets 140% damage per stage for 10 stages increase.
Dual strike gets its tiny damage nerfed.

This says everything about the state of the game that there is to say.
