Well I never really paid attention to which tribe I was fighting, I just went for whoever gave me the most favor/the best reward on my main. Then on the cheese character I always eliminated kahutora or whatever titanic shell guy's name is and Ikiaho's tribe early in the tournament because those 2 are annoying af to fight. Can't really target-farm tribes if certain ones will softlock you or make the games take 30 minutes. Yeah replying is weird and sometimes the quote button doesn't even work the first time you click it. Jankiest forum I've used.
yes ikiaho shoots a projectile which leaves ground degen and it'd ins death on 1hp ci tota build she does have a chance at a multiple divine tattoo though and her units csb be easily deal with using void sphere so even if you keep dying your units can do most of the job taking totems only kahutoroa can seriously mess up the tournament imo

The fact is, this mechanic not only is entirely optional, but it's so well designed that it's not even consuming an event hook-point in your maps. I get that some people might not enjoy such a big departure from regular PoE, but you can ignore it and play the mechanics you do like.

That's fine, but don't forget the original topic : how TotA is badly made.
I thought I had a good strategy to cheese and use void sphere, dashing as much as I can, but sometimes it is not enough : ice girl has a ton of people defending and preventing you to channel, some random ice spear off-screen stopping me ... and still, they have enough people to go aggro and defeat my own army ? :)
So what, do I have to achieve it all by myself ? :)
I am sure it started with a great idea in mind, but this time (only this time), the devs went in the wrong direction.
And boy, the "lore" or idk how to call it, the HUGE AMOUNT of chat between npcs in tota is really boring. Where is the "I don't care" button again ?

No, it is not well-designed. No, it is not optional because people do challenges. Yes maybe in your circle of friends you "enjoy" it but one look at the forums tells you how many people are sick of it, and steam charts say it all.
