TOTA would be better with regular game mechanics
" Exactly what I've been trying to say. And it probably lags for you because this whole area is PoE 2 assets shoved into this game. The VRAM usage goes up to 2 GB when going to that zone, its obvious that this is backported stuff and it probably won't run well on some PCs. |

" How bout making your profile public and lets see one of those "many permutations". The couple of people in this thread who have defended it,one of them is playing hexblast traps, one of them is using the widowhail/rearguard void sphere cheese and the rest of you guys are private. right side passive trees. Ok so i don't see these "many permutations" on the forums.lets check twitch. There was only 3-4 people playing the tota mechanic in the top 50 (i stopped there). another widowhail/rearguard player (surprise),another hexblast and one lonely boneshatter at rank 250 having a very very rough time. Maybe youtube has some? haa nope just the widowhail/rearguard void sphere cheese. Where are these "many many builds"? This league mechanic has less build diversity than sanctum did.Atleast sanctum has good rewards. You either cheese like 90% of the people playing the mechanic or bang your head against a wall. Doesn't look like people enjoy either. |

" Exactly my point. This mechanic can only be played at high rankings by like 2 builds lol |

" I play it just fine with nothing but flamedash. Pulled out 12 raw divines along with many, many other things today. Granted, I pretty much spent the entire day doing that. The end is nigh Last edited by Hosshiun#0964 on Sep 15, 2023, 3:39:53 PM

For me, the bad faith arguments were most clear when a guy argued you could use frost wall and decoy totem as build varity.
1. Congrats that adds two gems that don't define playstyles. Real varity there. 10/10 2. They don't work anyway. Frost wall is unsummoned around tota totems and enemies, and they nerfed taunt so they were unaffected. Poe's enemy interactiions reduce down to damage and reducing incoming damage. The game never really explores tank or support playstyles like other arpgs. Sure aura and curse bots exist, but they could be done way better. We have skills that setup others for more damage. But even stuff like curses and wither are more about offense then control. We have defensive skills but most if not all of them do damage. Tota as it currently stands would make more sense if we could interact with monsters in a different way. Like if we had a skill that made a monster cower in fear, or turn them into a pig, or deflect projectiles ( the classic clichés), then tota would work way better. Btw, if it matters, I played a mahori equi sp? Stun chieftan with like 145 reduced stun threshold, 200-400 stun duration that is always doubled because of mark, and very quickly they outscaled my stun chance. Interacting with tota enemiesat all feels bad. Not amazing gear but even with pob warrioring my hit damage isn't ever going to get large enough. Left side phys scaling is really bad. |

I can loop around the top or bottom right of the map and take out a flanker or two before I have to even worry about dodging unless their thunderbirds/ravagers are being pests. The only time I lose is Giant turtles I don't kill quickly enough or The dreaded iceground of doooom. (Which is the price I pay for being CI, so I don't complain about it).
