A noob needs a price check - Aurumvorax Basket Rapier

Hey.
I'm still new to this game, so I'm still having trouble pricing the items I find:

Today I found this:


Until I got this, i thought only kite shield could have so high ele resistance. 43% is brutal.

So, what could this be worth?

i have three of those and they are worth nothing

i hope one day ggg introduces customizable houses so i can decorate my walls with them

Found one of them this morning, too.
I'm trying to think of a way how this item could be useful. Mine has almost 60% elemental resistances - pretty beast for one item. But as a weapon it has not enough damage potential. The 60% increase resistances would be great when you move from Cruel to Merciless. But at that point this weapon will barely make a dent into mobs.

How could you make use of it? As spellcaster? Dual wield it with another weapon if you want to fight Piety?

Right now I can only think of it as something you put on weapon swap if you get cursed with elemental weakness and have to run away. Other ideas?

Lower level uniques are actually much more common than you would think, since you don't have to reach end-game to get them. They are generally valued at a relatively low price in the economy, at around one or two alchs, or a bit more depending on how good the roll is, and the popularity/usefulness of the unique.

Well, this is a low level unique, so of course it's usefulness diminishes as you level. It is still very good for its level though, and as you've mentioned, it would be useful to keep on weapon swap for an emergency boost to resists.

I just thought that it might be great to RUN through some areas. Who really wants to clean out all the mobs in Chamber of Sins, Crematorium and Solaris 3 times? And I can just use some mediocre armor till I hit lvl 62. This might be more useful than I first thought! :D

It can be used offhand by double strike users or even as a sword n'shield for casters.

It's erm niché is quite poor for late game because everyone aims for high resists on the gears and high damage mods on their weps. Particually good for totem casters.
