It's time to remove XP loss

I'm not gonna read through 6 whole ass pages of comments to see if anyone's said it yet, but Sanctum is back and is one of the safest league mechanics in the game. It took me 2 weeks of farming it at level 95 to reach 100 for the first time ever. Made a bunch of currency in the process. Once you reach a certain amount of DPS to kill Lycia quickly, it's almost impossible to die in Sanctum.

I'm mentioning this, because it further adds to OP's point that getting to 100 is a joke now so it's silly that we still have an exp penalty. Group players get to enjoy hemorrhaging currency in 5way rotas for fast exp, and now solo players have a way of reaching 100 very slowly in Sanctum.

I don't see why these 2 options should be the only reliable way of getting to level 100. I'm sure some people would really appreciate leveling through some good old fashioned mapping, or grinding Heist, or Blight maps, or whatever else.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

You'd have to pay steady fee buying tomes to play sanctum exclusively, and all 4 floors in total have less mobs than 1 juiced map. Poor/new players cannot afford leveling in sanctum, and rich/veteran players have no need for it, they can just do several rotas.

What do you mean? Tomes are going for 10c a piece at area level 83, meaning it's going to be much cheaper at lower levels. The moment you get a divine from a single tome, you'll be flooded with tomes and even more currency will follow.

Sanctum offloads the reduced mobs by giving tons of exp to the bosses. Also, you're even more likely to get killed in a juiced map versus a normal alch+vaal+go map, which is still more likely to kill you than a Sanctum run would.

Leveling on bosses is definitely new concept for poe, no idea if their exp is worth it :)

If yes, you'd still need to buy relics and make a special build, sanctum isn't compatible with every T16 viable character. And you have to oneshot Lycia before her BS waves begin. Which is not a feat that noob can perform.

And that is a good thing.

All in all, with all the powercreep, GGG should change death penalty to 20%
Biggest compliments for my crafted items - "bs, they must have been RMT'ed"

I'm disabled, I have rare case of semperduravera, so I can write things that may look rude, but it is because of disability - I'm forced to tell truth using words you may not like.

Can confirm, I've been bulk buying sanctums for 15c each and you can probably get them cheaper if you're willing to work for it. You literally cannot fail to make that back, even if your build can't beat the sanctum; I usually make at least 20c in hard currency by the end of the second floor. So if you or your build can't clear Lycia, there's still lots of money to be made just running the first 3 floors and then selling the partially completed tome to other players.

And as Pizza said, once you can clear the entire thing it's infinitely self sustaining. Here's what I got from the last four I ran:

Spoiler

These runs averaged out to around 500c each, which means just one of them would more than pay for my next 30 sanctum runs. I think my worst level 83 sanctum all league was still around 250c total, mostly in sextants and exalts.

You don't even have to reach Lycia to get divine rewards either. Despite many people saying otherwise, you can occasionally find divines as early as floor 3. If you get the offer to get 1 on killing floor boss, you've locked that reward in before even reaching floor 4. So if your build can't tackle Lycia or the BS on floor 4 in general, you can still get pretty big payouts in the earlier 3.
