Ancestor League mechanic needs ELO Choice or Downgrade or Cap option.

You missed my main point:
ELO rank can be chosen by intentionally losing. And most efficient way to do that is logout. From my POV this is simply a design failure. Logout for intentionally losing should not be the most efficient option.
So my main point is not to make it possible. Because it already is. It is to make it a proper in-game feature instead of something-that-should-not-be-a-thing.


(And I am ok with them nerfing the rewards. But this is not what this thread is about.)
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
It can't really be chosen which is why its toxic to do so, GGG do this all the time its put a sufficient qol obstacle in the way of an action and a majority of players won't do what you don't want them to regardless of whether it rewards them or not.

You then get players that think they are supposed to do X because they can (the few willing to jump through said qol loops) arguing doing X should be easier when realistically they never wanted you to do X just didn't bother coming up with an actual solution to it.

This is a carbon copy of trade in its implementation

This isn't to say that I don't agree with you because I do, but GGG aren't likely to do this as it requires them to curate the content properly and every league currently is abandoned after week 2 to get the next one going. When it eventually reappears as it hopefully should they might have tweaked it but again with a suitable change to the rewards.

logging out enough to decrease the ranking until it makes a difference will take hundreds of coins and way too long a way to choose our rank is by far the best option
