Ancestor League mechanic needs ELO Choice or Downgrade or Cap option.
TOTA is so unbalanced it's not fun
its a great concept but the poor implementation makes mw want to break things |

" TOTA doesn't require much skill. It helps, but what is important is having the right strategy, some idea of what units do well in what position and totem priority. Here is a clip of someone (they aren't very good) clearing rank 1250 with a tabula and 30% boots. He spends a lot of time idle between matches, no idea why. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C1qZQJ67IM Rank 2000 really isn't any different when you aren't attacking. For reference, I hit rank 2000 using a spark inquisitor with pretty low damage (1-1.5m dps, irrelevant since I rarely attack) no relevant defensive layers (armour - no block, suppression or dodge) and no cheese (no voidsphere or anything similar). Throwing on widowhail + rearguard, grace and voidsphere would make it easier, sure. Its also wouldn't be big ask relative to gear requirements for any other content in the game. "What is your average tournament win time? "Other content doesnt force upranking upon char. I can farm fossils and resonators in Delve at whatever depth I want. I only need a specialized char if I want to go deep. Here I am forced to go deep or to lose intentionally. Like I am up against turtle without means to beat it fast => its more efficient to leave. This is just bad design. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

Nobody in any game any genre likes loosing control over character, dying, waiting respawn timers etc. So how it is great concept: making a lot of oneshot crap while having as rewards some items which grant them increased damage taken after you die. Like ok sir you oneshotted me 4 times already but now you will take 100 % increased damage and it is GG for you. Sadly, bot do not feel pity or remorse from his shameless actions about you. But player - do. Make an effort- yes plz, to be an "sufferer" - plz no. |

Honestly they just need to give players a Forfeit button that they can press immediately. I think if people want to stay at a certain rank, either to complete specific challenges or because they're reworking their build, doubling their silver coin costs is a perfectly fair way to do that.
It just needs to be less obnoxious than requiring multiple logouts to do quickly. |

" 1. My tournament win times with a build which was suitable for TotA and adjusted for TotA were - but dont remember for sure - like 20-25 min. 2. Lots in this game is about efficiency. If I can win in 10 min I get 2x the loot and progression vs 20 min. 3. This is not the main point of this thread. The main issue is: I either cap out at 2000 rank or I reach a rank befitting my skill/build. This thread is about the second mostly. If that happens then I get: a) I almost never win a tournament. b) Battle will take a long time. Obviously this is very inefficient. For me its also very unfun. The way out is to intentionally lose. And the most efficient way to achieve this is logout. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

I think my point is that like you say efficiency matters for all content types and not every character is good at Tota - if they allow us to choose ELO they will gut the rewards at everywhere but the top and you'll have the same efficiency you currently have by clearing high ranks slowly.
It isn't designed to be cleared with 8 minute tournaments its just an unfortunate side effect and players shouldn't compare a good clear time to that. If they decide to make it core after this league I hope they will address the ELO problem but like I say in the long run its just going to boil down to a universal reward nerf.
