And there would end PoE, because the players are shit at making game design decisions (see retail WoW and where it went through the expansions as blizz listend)

Admittedly though, the features coming to their new expac is pretty sweet (Warbands)

But yea I agree, most of the changes before Dragonflight were pretty horrid~ Currently, I'd say it's pretty good so far!

yeah no offense but id trust ggg 100000000x more than any of you to make decisions for this game.

ggg have made the best arpg ever created, kept it running for a decade and grown its playerbase year on year. no one else has ever made an arpg that could do that. what on earth would make anyone think anyone else would be better off making the calls? no one in the history of game development has a more proven track record for making a good arpg.

that's not true. There was a modder who provided his own server and forum, programmed anti-cheat, an extremely large number of items, new mobs, new maps, a large inventory and much more for D2.
He did that after work!!!!
I have played this mod with friends for years. d2 was good though. but their patches, inventory and new content was RIDICULOUS! and the team wasn't ruined back then!

Or let's look at skins from Steam for games like Warframe and compare with skins from the company. The difference is EXTREME and designers on Steam have first-class skills!

or who programmed all the addons for wow? Hello?! without all these addons the end content was RIDICULOUS! devs stole all the ideas from addon creators and wow is only being played for so long because of that!

By simply buying Tencent holdings stock.
Currently they go for 40usd per share.
You guys spend hundreds if not thousands of your parents money on stuff that you don't and will never own in the game, like cosmetics or stash tabs.
Instead spend it on shares.
If most of us get our hands on shares here ggg will have to obey us, as we will literally own them.
Plus buying stocks will increase their price, making you real money, and you will be able to actually get your money back when you sell your shares.

It's that simple.
No amount of forum spam will make them change anything.
Buying them even if you get 2% of overall shares will make them listen to you, as you're part owner of the company now.

Think about it next time you want to waste money on in game items.

Tencent Holdings fell 12.4% on Jan 4, 2024
After checking google to see if the news is correct or not, google states -75.20 (-20.77%) past year, so it is actually worst than I thought.

Uh actually no, it isn't. Or we'd all be millionaires.

As a side note, it wasn't just tencent that fell like that, it was also netease. The reason being, China, in their infinite wisdom, decided to police games worse than some nanny governments. Not smart. They then turned around and said they would approve a shit ton of games, breaking a record for them.

Gaming stocks have been badly beaten up since Covid ended, in general. Was it a buying opportunity? Yes. If you knew what to buy.

Not true... well, not the whole truth, anyway

Gaming peaked during covid because people were stuck at home and needed stuff to do, stocks are not beaten atm, theyre just back to normal(sort of improved even)

It wasnt a buy oportunity, it was a sell oportunity

Tencet is doing... okay-ish? The company is super stagnant for years now, it suffered a hiccup on jan, but beyond that it has been showing slow decline since early 2023, not one that i would consider putting money on, personally
Technology changes might be what does poe in at least in terms of being able to compete with triple and quad A games. Right now they basically have a choice of trying to compete or go the d2 res mode and it seems to me like they are trying to compete with poe2 that might end up being a mistake but only time will tell. However going the d2 res route would be kind of sad in a way even if it ends up being the right choice in the end.
So let's just step through the logic here and also explain how publicly listed companies work.

In order to impose your will on a business you will need to have the controlling interest in the business, which in basic terms is 51% of all shares. As of today Tencent is worth 333.24605 billion US dollars (source: https://www.tencent.com/en-us/investors.html and xe.com exchange rate of 1 HKD = 0.147741 USD). Therefore, all you need to do is purchase $169.95548 billion in shares.

Now let's explain the difficult part!

Even if you could afford to purchase all those shares, you'll find that most companies have a small group of very large shareholders. Typically they are other companies, share traders, banks, superannuation funds, or sometimes initial owners who continue to retain a large proportion of all shares. You may find one individual who already has 51% of the shares in the business, and he's not selling no matter the price.

Even if everyone that owned shares was willing to sell, you would effectively be operating as a hostile take over. Companies are very aware to this possibility and as share activity spikes unexpectedly, they will either operate defensively to protect the business, or operate predaceously by holding out for the highest price they could squeeze from you, which means you'll need much more than the original $170B.

Why would you spend that much money to purchase the full range of all items Tencent owns, when you're only really interested in a single product of theirs? That's like saying "I'm going to buy 3M because I want them to make Post-Its in my favourite colour".

You'd actually be better off spending a fraction of that amount, $10M ought to do it quite comfortably, and build your own ARPG exactly as you'd like it. Let us know when that product is ready to go to market.
