beginner builds
" My personal observation is that tankiness by far the most important stat for newbies, because for a new player, things taking longer doesn't feel bad at all due to not having comparison. But dying feels terrible to a new player, because that just sucks, especially combined with XP loss. So, I wouldn't recommend archers for anyone new as they are rather squishy - an experienced player doesn't die with them much due to mechanical experience with the game. Take that away by handing the character to a new player, and an archer character dies twice per map. Also, EA totems feel absolutely horrible to play early, which is the most important part for a new player. The typical gameplay is the player running face first into mobs, starting to summon ballistas too late, and die before the ballistas even fire. So, imo RF and cold dot are by far the better recommendations. " Those builds exist but are very much new player unfriendly and much weaker than the top builds. From fire stuff, there're righteous fire builds (pohx kappa on youtube), and fire trap elementalist (subtractem on youtube). Last edited by Xyel#0284 on Aug 14, 2023, 5:51:19 AM

For beginners, it's a chicken and egg problem. All builds require some sort of investment to be fun but you can't acquire the currency unless you play at a high enough level.
Minion was good for beginners because it could do well just with gems until it was continuously nuked leaving no good build for beginners atm. RF might be the best option right now but again, it's a bit complicated and require a lot of investment to feel good. |
