Enki’s Arc witch is about as beginner friendly as it gets, and it’s fun.

" I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Enki has put Arc to rest. RIP :( She is, however, working on a Lightning Conduit alternative, which should be just as good. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3410006 |

" erm enki is a guy... @OP RF jugg and boneshater jugg/slayer are pretty beginner friendly and dont need much investment to get going |

Ha! Well RiP for real.
And folks are complaining there is no ‘meta’ shake up! |

I write build guides specifically for newbies.
My current one is for skeleton mage necromancer https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3351307 Even if you dont use the guide, read the "newbie info" section in the 3rd post of the thread.
Any caster build you find should do the job. They ramp up pretty early on and give you a quick look over the game and over time you learn more and more about the game yourself than you don't need any build guides at all and only use them as a small reference.
Wouldn't recommend RF since it needs a bit of knowledge to get the build done properly and most of the RF guides and stuff are entirely just a bait unless you're pretty deep into zdps builds, but RF is being the worst option for both damage and defense. Can also suggest to Kee your hands away from the "larger streamer aka wannabe celebrity" builds as they are also pure bait. There isn't really much of the perfect beginner build as you learn stuff with whatever approach and build you take. The best approach is to look for whatever you would like to play as an see if there's a build guide for it and make sure that the build guide doesn't require you to own expensive items like a headhunter or mageblood in order to work properly. Even if you pick a entirely garbage build you will learn out of the weaknesses of the build and learn the basics of the game. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

For quality content you might want to have a look at builds from maxroll, Link here: https://maxroll.gg/poe/category/build-guides
I would wholeheartly recommend cold dot, as slowing the game down with the chill helps you to navigate it easier. I would 100% stay away from minions though. |

Spell and bow builds are best, spell is easy and cheap to build for and bow builds have good clear for newbie it is best to combine these qualities resulting in Explosive arrow ballistas or Poison Ballistas that also provide defense and tank damage.
it also makes it safe to play even on pinnacle bosses, because you throw down your 4 ballistas, they auto-attack boss while u run around in circles. As it was mentioned RF (righteous fire) is noob bait, it does have best build guides ingame, whole webpages dedicated to it BUT it is not even top 50skill to use unless you plan to farm white maps forever. And as noob you have no idea how to push that build in to endgame, because it gets real expensive. And its clear speed actually sucks even when you invest 30mirrors in to it, while lightning or tornado shot or kinetic blast clears 3 screens, you clear little circle around you. It is comfortable and fun but not efficient. Meanwhile for poison ballista u need tabula rasa, lvl1 bow and you can go straight to red maps. Ofcourse i'd recommend to get some defenses first(cap your resistances) But explosive arrow is even cheaper to build than poison ballista for endgame because it is cheaper to scale fire damage for bossing, so i recommend that. And if you get tired of the game being too easy you can regret orb in to other witch build. I feel pretty, Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty, and witty and gay, And I pity Any girl who isn’t me today!
what about other fire skills/spells like burning arrow?
