Warning! 3. 22 Chieftain is very weak ,don't let build "guides" ruin your league start

I was addicted to Chieftain & played it for 7 leagues, I have a long comprehensive chieftain experience, so u may trust me when I say: Chieftain is totally nerfed ,both offensively and defensively.

-I tried to make a new build for it, but nah ,it does not have enough synergy of ascendancy Notables to make any skill or build better, or even as good as other ascendancies.
-- synergy of ascendancy Notables example:
Chieftain HAD fire and attack synergy of 4 ascendancy Notables for fire damage + 2 ascendancy Notables with totem buffing your attack and fire damage, mix and match as u wish.

Chieftain WAS very good for:
1 great for fire damage
2 great for totems & ancestral totem damage, utility & buffs
3 strength stacking
4 can consistently generate and utilize Endurance Charges.

Chieftain "rework" adjusts the above to be:
1 poof, nothing
2 nothing
3 nothing
4 nothing

* Don't let build "guides" misguide u into a sad league start, They are hyping the new fire resistance and max ele resistance Notables, which are meh, the cost is 2 ascendancy Notable skills, not a good value, and won't compensate for the lack of damage and utility.
Also ,any and all offensive & defensive ascendancy Notables Chieftain had were better than the new ones, yet less than 1% of players played Chieftain in the past 3 leagues!

As someone who actually played old chieftain... I may still league start it. 85+ Max resist and a free fist of war is okay-ish for SSF. But the rest of the class is garbage.

I will say this to anyone thinking of playing Chieftain. It has ZERO attack speed. Jugg, Zerk, Slayer, Champ, Glad all have att speed boosts. Just a warning to anyone not used to that, I personally have gotten use to it.

The defensive potential of the new chieftain is simply nuts, likely enough to afk ubers with a bit of investment. That said, damage is going to be an issue if you want to go past pinnacle content because the ascendancy doesn't provide much on that end. But i don't think it's impossible to solve that problem.

well you have two times fist of war which is X4dmg and you can couple that with heatshiver and ice crash which has 350%dmg effectiveness.(attk speed doesnt matter that much for slams)

you can pick debeon dirge axe for like 2c(be sure to pick up some of the warcy nodes in top area - theyre close) and auils with purity of fire for like 50-60c and get close to 90%res.(replica oro`s sacrifice could also work, bit i think axe is better)

im pretty sure you will be able one tap packs in t16 maps with that. will it be good for league mechanic and sanctum - probably not.

other nodes beside the res and slam ones look thrash tho.

I'm sure there'll be at least one decent chieftain starter but it will get buried under the more optimal ones.

Seems like all stuff the new chieftain can do, others can do better like RF or slams or totems (?)

still 1% ascendancy imo

Not everyone is looking for the path of least resistance, you know. Some people like to test out new shit, and even though the new Chieftain is rather underwhelming, it's still "new shit".

Sure, a few people will try it but Chieftain will be more niche than ever. Even if it is the "new shit" it is still shit!

at some point someone figures out a good build combo
