Why do i keep seeing people saying don't use alchs until T6 maps?

As a player that's not deep into trading. I've never ran out of Alch's.

I think people go too hard into the loot filter and block way too much. Even to the point, newer players are told to use the highest level of loot filter. As they won't know how to go into Neversinks settings and unblock items like rings etc.

Usually, it's good advice because you can rush faster through those countless trash-tier maps and reach the higher maps faster. But if you aren't racing and you aren't in a hurry it's maybe better to use alchs.

Depends on the league, I guess. Some leagues gives you so much alchs through league mechanics. In other leagues, you can starve on alchs for quite some time.

This was the correct answer.

I don't know when the OP started playing but there was a time when people were starved for alch drops. It hasn't so much been the case lately but w/e... people cling to conventional wisdom which once served a purpose I guess.

Also, mirror guy has a point. White and yellow maps are a means for building atlas completion so you can spend your time in reds/T16. The relative amount of white maps you're running is so small it's an exercise in semantics to bicker over how one should roll a T1-5 map. If you're over-sustaining alchs, then do what you want with them.
I don't know, it depends. If you got enough alchs/bindings - ofc run rare maps. But if you are short on them - save them for yellows (to make them rare, plus buy the maps from Kirac).

At league start alchs are very valuable, they allow vety quick atlas progression via Kirac shop (and thr beggining completing atlas is more important than running low tier maps with more iiq).

When I level up to high levels via mapping (to 99 usually) - I even run T16 maps as blue ones. Simply to make mapping as safe as possible. Yes yes I know, I could simply farm some divines and buy a boost to 100 via 5way carry - but that is unfun.
Because they're in SSF, and/or HC or they don't know what they're talking about.

If you're in SC trade league I'm pretty sure even T1 maps are worth alching as you'll almost certainly make at least 1 alch in extra profit from the extra quant. As long as your build isn't bricked by too many mods as an alch + scour + alch or a chaos to re-roll a bad map may not be worth it on very low maps with no atlas points.
i transmute white maps and pretty much 100% get all my yellow maps from Kirac with alchs

I know what I am talking about
Lol, i had 27 mirrors and never cared about saving alchs.

Cause such a thing as "wasting" alchs doesn't exist in trade league and the few alchs orbs won't make you any more poor or richer. They just wanted to low key flex with their currency and/or believe in some streamer/YouTube nonsense
Exactly!
Statements like "Never use alchs" etc is just bogus. It all depends on the league you play. If the league has currency drops and or in-map activities you probably won't ever run out of alcs. In other words the answer to the question is... They say this because once in a blue moon there is a league that doesn't yield any extra drops and then it is just like playing bare-bone standard. When that happens you might want to listen to their advice.

Solo selfound players might also run into dry spells but then you need to make that decision yourself based on the drops you have gotten. New people should rather be informed about all the other ways to make your gear, maps, etc into rares. If they use alchs for both maps and gear and forget about harvest, essences, beast craft, alt-aug-regal, horizon orbs etc they will ofcourse run into starvation in low currency leagues.

The main reason for seasoned veterans using transmutation on white maps is safety and speed. The map sustain on white maps is so easy you don't really need to make them rare. You can speed through blue maps without spending time reading all the mods and if you are underleveled like they usually are when entering maps they usually choose the safest option. A lot of the guide makers play hardcore/ssf so they will give hardcore/ssf playstyle advice.
