I need GGG to tell me if the Trial of Ancestors tattoos will be retained at end of league

As per title.

I havent seen the full unique list yet (no non staff has seen it i guess), i exclusively play leagues to enrich my STD character.

can GGG please clearly clarify.

sentinel was pretty obvious that the sentinel thingies were not going core.

crucible geodes were very likely to not go core, crucible trees should go core (theyre on equipment). this was confirmed with the recent announcement.

normally i wont even need to ask as equipments dropped in temp league normally always transfer over to STD with the exception of the recent sanc relics.

the tattoos arent equipment but are more akin to essence/catalysts since they are consumable.

really curious to know as this will influence me greatly whether i revert to STD or go for the temp league.

also a preemptive note to people who dont care about STD, this post does not concern you. move along. if you dont enjoy STD, its ok. you do you. i do me.

I get what your saying but don't they have to see how they turn out in a league to make a decision to keep them around or not?

to answer your question we have to delve into POE's history of leagues.

league mechanics have the mechanic itself, utilities for players to gain power, and direct player power.

utilities to me are like sentinel, harvest seeds. they give you the potential for power but not direct player power.

direct player power usually comes in the form of gear. such as scourged items, crucible trees, sanctified relics.

traditionally GGG had marketed temp leagues as a way for players to gain access to interesting gear and own the gear in possibly unbalanced forms. it was our reward for playing the league to bring back to standard.

in fact i still own some legacy uniques due to playing temp leagues like 100% poison/bleed chance void heart. ggg nerfed the newer ones but left the old ones untouched. it was our reward.

even if the league mechanic and its utilities (such as sentinel) did not make it to core, the direct player power will remain (sentinel crafted items).

this all changed with sanctum and their removal of sanctified relics.

had i have known i would not have wasted a huge bulk of my time playing the league. i would be playing other games.

if we went back further into the history of POE, temp leagues were a way for GGG to test new mechanics to bring into core. thus players were BETA TESTERS. hence various ways were introduced to entice players to play temp leagues.

if you are a temp league enjoyer, my request has zero value to you.

but if you put yourselves in my shoes where my entire goal of playing is for direct increases of power, would it be fair for me to know before hand whether or not i get to keep the stuff i gain in the league?

before sanctum, i would rest assured that GGG would allow me to keep my gear. but after sanctum, not really anymore. i need reassurances.

does playing a temp league help me achieve my goal of attaining more power? if i continue on standard, i skip all the hassle of refarming all my gear, i also have access to my legacy gear and a buttload of high value jewels.

so my question back to you. dont WE as players have a right to make an informed decision whether to play temp leagues or not?

Players have no rights in that manner

Honestly you are going to have to hedge your bets if its really important to you, get a big supply of them and wait it out or get some from HC.

definitely we have zero rights. it all depends on the game devs. but wouldnt it be better for us to know?

Why would they tell you before the league ends? lmao
Dys an sohm
Rohs an kyn
Sahl djahs afah
Mah morn narr
I bet they make that decision hours before they announce it to everyone, at the latest possible point they can.

Why in the world would a company willingly shoot themselves in the foot before the new league launch by actively turning people like you AWAY from playing?

I'd also like to point out...you have SO MANY supporter packs. Clearly you DON'T need them to tell you because they never have before and you have still supported them so so much lol!

Better for us, not better for them. Most things they've made that end up broken beyond belief were because someone found a crazy interaction they didn't think of. These tattoos are no different. They have nothing to gain by making that determination upfront and everything to gain by waiting to see how broken their new toy really is.

Lol you have a point, they clearly did not have to tell me because previously they ve never actually took away direct player power gained, until sanctum as i previously mentioned.

So what if they dont tell me? Salt. A lot of salt. And probably might decide to stop supporting them. They dont need my money anyway since so many others are supporting them.

Also by not letting players know early, its clear cut that ggg doesnt give a damn about their players/supporters.

This leads to the discussion of innovation. If theyre not free to make things voided they cant innovate new and interesting stuff. The counter argument is temp leagues have always been meant to be testing grounds for stuff to go to core. If theyre making things so poweerful that they regret it going to core that is a failure in their design process.

I dont get why people defend ggg so much. [Removed by Support]

We are just beta testers so they can make Ruthless 2 (aka PoE 2).

I understand your pain but thats the truth. Tencent owns them. They wont care about players anymore.
