Sanctum coming back is great but why not sanctified relics?
" Again, why? Heist, Expedition, and Blight were added to core as-is, yet they all give massive amounts of profit for time spent. If Sanctum can't compete with those leagues for profitability, nobody's gonna want to run them. If GGG also nerfs loot from those leagues, that'll just screw over players who don't run speed clear builds. That's a fact. Bear in mind that Sanctum tomes only let you clear one floor, meaning you'll need 4 for a complete run to get the payout. Depending on how rare the tomes drop, you would either have to wait a long time to get them all, or possibly pay a sizeable amount of chaos to buy off someone else. So not only does GGG have to consider the total profitability of 4 tomes, they also have to weigh its rewards against existing leagues to make sure its roughly similar to incentivize people to run it. Otherwise, why bother? Oh, and Sanctum's rewards are an "all or nothing" deal. In the aforementioned leagues, depending on how poorly you do, you can still pull at least a little value (you can literally run back to portal room in Heist to remove contraband tag before even starting lockdown). If you die or your resolve hits 0, your Sanctum run ends, taking all of your hard-earned loot with it and there's no workaround to even mitigate that loss. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! "Well I certainly wasn't saying the rewards aren't part of the fun. I agree they are part of it, absolutely; games are literally made of "do thing, get reward" rules. They should never be all of it though - that quite specifically means you're adding something which isn't enjoyable to play for 99.9% of its length, and that's a terrible idea. |

" Im not sure if Sanctum is 99.9% not enjoyable i yet need to try it out for once and see after the core integration but I already know now that there is no long term incentive to do it which kills the fun for me personally. Sanctums core integration could have been exciting. Right now its simply not. |

Sanctified relics would either create a mandatory tax on playing a particular character, or they'd have to be made tradeable which would give an immense power spike instantaneously to upper end characters.
Both would be unpopular, its far easier to just stop people having to choose by removing them. |

Having Sanctum with "Resolve" in core is a big step trought the garbage per PoE.
Having an endgame where basically u have to dance to not get hit despite how many levels of defence you are able to put or roll in you character is an insult for an ARPG. Very poor choice, what's the point GGG do you want us to play an RPG or to Dance Dance Revolution ? The game will be worse with Sanctum in. Pfff ! " +1 i like sanc relics, but i hate forced progression. the benefit a relic provides is really significant for min maxing. you're forced to do it. [Removed by Support]
