"api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-1.dll is missing" error

I'm still on Win 7

I get this error but am able to still load into the game.

For example Steam gave a year notice,
'Steam won't run on Windows 7 or 8 after January 1, 2024'
(I don't run through steam, it's just an example of a notice)

I have tried several times to load a character but before going in town the game is freezing and crashed without an error.

I think the win7 support is gone. Many users are not happy, every league was fine but this is a desaster. Without the api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-2-0.dll all will be good. Pls take a look into it...

I change dx11 to Vulcan and not take any errors ..

But if they not fix this will be bye bye POE for sure. I dont want win10/11 for this moment

+1 here, also on win7 and going to 10 or 11 is a definite no for me, i'll just quit poe for good.

same for me using windows 7 api missing if the patch deleted the dll .....
seems they will do nothing about it . i might quit as well

The error popup is DX11 specific. In the game display settings change the renderer to Vulkan and you won't get the error.

this error has also been occuring for me with a windows 8 pc. the experience has been very stutery gameplay even with sounds disabled via modifications to not having sounds executed. still very choppy game play.

I can't remember Microsoft support win 8 or not.....


So all you can do is either upgrade to 10 or 11..

So windows 7 stopped getting windows support in 2020 and win 8.1 was jan of this year.

Time to upgrade, you should not reasonably expect any current game to support dead OS's.

As someone who works with various configurations, it's weird that you say that. Many games run very well on Windows 7. There are games that work even better on Windows 7. You copy-paste phrases from para-tech blogs. You are doing a terrible image for GGG.
