Are all i85 Bosses spell only?
" If using a staff, raising max ele res won't be the way to go, because of the lack of shield. Generally speaking, if you want to beat Uber bosses, you really need to push your buid to the extremes, either massive damage to instaphase them or exceptional defenses. If you favour defenses, you should consider, depending on your budget and gear slots: - Loreweave + Transcendance keystone, for awesome elemental protection provided some level or armour (basalt + granite flask + determination are sort of mandatory). However you will need another way to mitigate phys damage, be it tons of endurance charges or "physical damage taken as X". - Incandescent Heart + Divine Flesh keystone, and chaos resistance via clusters. Taking 75% elemental damage as chaos means largely ignoring penetration, and Incandescent Heart has useful mods. - The Fourth Vow + Divine Flesh and quite some armour is a strong all-rounder, and quite cheap, but slightly inferior unless you manage to scale armour to really high values. However, using a 2H instead of a shield limits your defensive options. The ones I mentioned above should suffice to not get OS by any of their skills, but you'll still have to dodge burst damage and big things. |

So much info! Thanks you guys. I need to digest a bit.
I didn't know small cluster jewel gives max element resist. Cool. I may try Melding of Flesh... not sure. Last edited by chinesefoodverygood#4811 on Jun 8, 2023, 6:09:34 PM

Looks like Melding of Flesh is the easier way to go? Just focus on one resistance type

What's your opinion on Brass Dome? High physical resistance, no critical damage and max 5%.

Brass dome is a strong defensive armor, one of the best. However compared to the combinations mentioned above it's weaker against ubers specifally by itself. You'd have to combine it with Tempered by War or Divine Flesh to provide decent protection. If you want to see an example of builds that can facetank most uber boss mechanics you can take a look at my Juggernaut and my level 98 ascendant. One uses Brass Dome + Tempered by War and the other uses Incandescent Heart + Divine Flesh.

I actually rarely use Timeless jewels. I find them very confusing!! I see two of the defensive notables are from the jewels.
Looks like with Tempered by War, I need to get one of the resistances much higher than the other two. Use Purify of Fire or something. Last edited by chinesefoodverygood#4811 on Jun 9, 2023, 8:03:47 AM

When Sabo debuffs damage with Blind, does it get reduced greatly by the Bosses? I know Bosses can resist a lot of Curses (but not Marks). Sabo debuffs 15% damage.

No the debuff is not reduced at all. Curses no longer have a penalty against bosses either btw.
As for the keystones, yes both tempered by war and divine flesh are keystones granted by timeless jewels. Sadly there aren't that many sources of damage taken as another element in the game and the others are either fairly small or are way more impractical than the timeless jewels. If you want to face ubers i'd recommend making yourself familiar with them. You'll need the power they can provide. /edit looked at your chars just now. I mean no disrespect but you aren't anywhere near the level of gear needed to even attempt ubers. Maybe you aren't aware but they aren't just a level 85 version of the regular pinnacles. Aside from the +1 level and the benefits that brings all their abilities are powered up drastically, they have a 70% less damage taken mod applying to them. There is a large gap between being able to do pinnacles and doing ubers. Your builds might be able to just barely handle pinnacle bosses but you are miles away from being uber ready.
