Expedition on t13-t16 maps way too unbalanced.

expedition is just bad on hit based builds. Play a dot build and you'll breeze through them

I'm 2/3 melee player but I banned it after the Fortify changes. I refuse to play my favorite play style because it's at such an awful disadvantage at this point. Prolly also why I get bored quick.

I mean, you can check my profile, 50% of my roster are melee characters still. I don't play slam melee much either I usually play strike melee. The same concepts still apply though.

Currently any Melee skill with projectiles is in a place do to massive damage.
Some drunk person made Vengaent Cascade.

Play Diablo 1. It's silly but this all makes sense if you did.

Expedition is perfectly balanced.

Know your build, read the text on the remnants for comprehension, avoid build bricking nodes.

Collect loot.

P.S. Bonezone handles juiced T16 content no problem when properly built.

This is PoE. There are like 100+ skill gems but you are only allowed to play bone shatter with 20 defensive layers... Just make sure you have at least 40k armour, 40k evasion, 80%+ all res, 100% spell suppress, damage taken as 3 different ele res, 7k life, 4k life regen, and don't forget eldrich battery so you don't go OOM. Then craft a 1200 DPS weapon so you are not hitting with a wet noodle. Once you have completed this you may be able to run a t16 maps.

I really cannot believe all of the GGG simps in these forums. Just re-read some of your posts. Guys, it is asinine to have to be able to figure out all of those defensive layers just to play the base game not to mention pinnacle bosses and league content. Good luck if you are new, GGG says fuck off newbs.
Expedition has fairly balanced monsters tbh, none of their abilities are bullshit oneshots out of nowhere. It's the pylons that make them really difficult and it's your choice to include them or not. If you play a character that relies on Armor and pick "overwhelm 100% phys damage reduction" then don't be surprised when you'll get pounded like Mike Tyson's opponent in a ring. Especially if you stack this with increased damage, extra phys as chaos, more damage map mod, ALWAYS CRIT pylon...

GGG could do a better job with presentation of them. Immunities are color-coded and stand out easily. They can color-code the rest of them too.

Oh no, even hit based builds are okay. Even with my much weaker skelly mages build, before I abandoned it for poison SRS, I could tackle Expedition okayish. The problem OP is having is that they're running melee.

I'm not saying it in a denigrating way. Melee has always been awful in PoE, because getting close to anything puts you in constant danger of getting instakilled by something slapping you. It's even worse with Expedition, because there's several melee monsters which deal tons of damage, such as the Black Scythe mobs with the blade arms. The safest way to beat them is to just outright instantly kill them as melee and if you can't, then better be ready for an ass kicking.

I'll bet you anything OP would have a much easier time with a tornado shot or arc build since they can always kite the enemies to death, something most melee builds simply can't do.

And it's not like you can just avoid picking remnants. I mean sure in some cases you must if it has something that nullifies your main damage, but if you want any kind of reward such as stacked decks, reroll currency, or logbooks, you need to pick them up. The less remnants you activate, the worse your rewards.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

Bonezone is one of the best skills for expedition it isn't because they are melee, you get AoE overlaps on basically the entire of every explosion as soon as it happens removing anything not a rare.

Your character isn't particularly strong if you expect to face tank T16 Expedition whiteout moving (which is to be expected when you're playing Boneshatter).

Alot of your gear choices is around damage, not defense. But in any case, your gear should be fine unless your map has some nasty mods (non-curse, -max res, reduced armor, reduced recovery etc...)

If you're tired of dying, I'd recommend looking up some big EHP Boneshatter gamers on poeninja. You can also feel free to check the level 100 Boneshatter I made this league, which could facetank most of the Uber fights (it's a Jugg though).

Im checking different chars and ascendandies on poe ninja occasionaly just for fun - sometimes saw really cool ideas/combos.
Im never was saying that my char- uber tanky though - i know my weak points im my build.
I can easily go non-crit with Precise Technique, get a lot hp bonus on Helm/Body Armour/Belt/Gloves, thats eater/Exarch grand+ implicits - that gives like bunch of strong bonuses( Aura effects and other).

With some like 5.5-6k hp, 50%+ Chaos res,max resists 81-83%, 100% suppression, non-crit Bonezone can be very tanky - no doubt.

PS.Can't say that im dying a lot.
Since league start total deaths like - 41, 40% of them - because of servers lags in first 2-3 weeks, a lot of maps/heists/expeditions/essences/Rituals/ Incursion temples 82-83 lvl done, 700k+ killed total mobs.
