Reduced mana cost of skills on rings does not work with the new life mastery.

I'm having the same issue. POB is showing my final mana cost as being 5 lower than in game. They are both calculating it differently. Bummed because 7 mana vs 12 is pretty big in my case

I'm having the same issue and no idea how this should be working but it's very frustrating and disappointing.

in game is working correctly, POB is calculating it wrong.

this mastery is not a reduced cost calculation(which is what POB is doing).

Regardless of what kind of mastery it is, the ring craft in the past always gave -3/-7 total mana cost at the end of everything else? Isn't that what "to total mana cost" means?

the mastery is to be calculated last(as this is spending 30% of the mana cost as life instead, it's not actually modifying the mana cost so it doesn't happen before -mana cost jewelry for example), and since mana modifiers don't apply to life modifiers the math appears off to many as they keep thinking its calculated at a different point in the calculation

using this thread for example https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3369075 so I can use all numbers here for the example

original cost of 37 x1(no reduced/increased mana/generic cost multipliers) x1(no less/more mana/generic cost multipliers) -21(flat mana modifiers) coming to a cost of 16, 30% of mana cost is spent elsehow bringing total mana cost to 11.2.

mana cost modifiers to not apply to life costs, so the life cost in this case (37(x.3)(base cost here(30% of base mana cost)) x1(no reduced/increased life/generic cost multipliers) x1(no less/more life/generic multipliers), -0(no +-life/generic costs), coming to 11.1

after rounding it becomes 11 mana and life cost

This 30% is not a life cost until the cost splitting (mastery effect) kicks in.
Before that, it is a mana cost.

How mana cost modifiers could possibly know beforehand that this 30% would become a life cost?
I presented the math. Once you put the mastery node the % on ring is not calculated at all. That is it. The math does not add up otherwise. PoB calculates it correctly and not the game.

My situation:

(41x0.87)-13=22.67 // 41 is the total 6l TR mana cost, 0.87 is the % on rings 6+7% -13 is the flat reduction on rings craft and the correct mana cost in game is 22

once I put the mastery node my mana cost becomes 15 mana and 12 life
How to get 15 mana cost?
(41x0.7)-13=15,7 // 41 again the total cost, 0.7 is the 70% mana portion of the mastery node and the -13 is the flat cost reduction. In game cost is 15mana 12 life. But where did the 13% reduced on rings go then??

The correct calculation should be:

((41x0.7)x0.87)-13=11.969

The only logical explanation is that once mastery node is allocated the game recognizes it as life cost and not mana so it does not calculate the % on ring. In theory the mana cost should apply to the mana portion since it is still considered a mana cost.

your putting the 30% cost as life to early in the calculation, reminder this is not a mana cost modifier so it applies last.
(41x.87-13)x.7 = 15.869, after rounding becomes 15
for life cost, base mana cost is 41, and 30% of that is 12.3, you have no modifiers that apply to life cost so after rounding its 12.
