Design for the Ruthless Movement Skill is Backwards

12. Now they revealed ruthless, and all GGG evil plans came to light, years of planning all around ruthless :O

It is almost like World War I happened because of PoE ruthless plans… I know it from a source, in one of trailers was a hint that was leading to a clue to a vid on tiktok that revealed a puzzle, and there it was. I love it, I’m ready to delve into this rabbit hole, or was Delve also because of ruthless?

Managing project the size of poe implies having long-run strategies, so it is not impossible for work done during 3.15 times being related or intended for ruthless. So far, you haven't proven otherwise either.
It should be deleted.

I am very sad to see Ruthless is being dictated by people that do not play it.


I have significant experience in Ruthless and I was in global chat through my adventures. Constantly saw people talking about how X was impossible as I was in the process of doing it.

I am not a good/talented player just an experienced one and I can tell you that everything in this mode is possible without movement skills and THATS WHY IT IS SO FUN!

People played ruthless for 1-3 days and were like "oh I can't already clear t16? it's impossible"

It frustrates me that we finally get an awesome starvation mode like this for PoE and its being dictated by people that don't play it.

Some of these things are verifiable facts. The mode was announced right after 3.15's launch in a path of exile podcast, Baeclast, where Chris was talking to the community addressing issues in the patch. In that interview he talked about a passion project, hard mode, and he explained how it related to the negative changes in 3.15 (act 1 rework, mana nerf, damage nerf, movement skill nerf, ailment mitigation nerf, and flask nerf):

"So our initial plan was that we would throw a bunch of nerfs on hard mode, and it's entirely for masochists people like me it's a mode that people can just play and like you know we'll just we'll just have it be brutal and oppressive, and so the first point of call was to go and make it so that the game itself is challenging. To go through all the monsters and make them just oppressive and and scary and stuff right? so as we're doing this we realized this is just making the game better. like no one's playing through this act one and hating it. The zoomie players are going to be fine with monsters actually having an interesting ability so let's just do that in 3 15. And, so we did. And so, we start work on other nerfs and for many of the nerfs we realized these are things that will benefit the game let's do them in 3.15 all players will appreciate the improvements that we believed that they were going to have such as addressing power creep and so on."
