Defend DIV? Why defend something to those with no real agency to damage it? Just pointing out that Blizzard found their solution to the problem -- and I also pointed out it was far from bloodless a solution. Blizzard's propensity to smooth rough edges to a boring smoothness is legendary.

Galaxybrain isnt "just" passive-aggressive. I truly admire the amount of intellect and dedication Exiles put into their chosen hobby. I just can't come up with a better word that is both accurate and not likely to set off Support alarms due to the implications. I see "neurodivergent" as a neutral term that encompasses a wide, beautiful range of people, but some might take it as an insult. It's also too vague here. There is something savant-like to the Exile, but that is a negative term now as well. We don't use left brain/right brain anymore either. "Genius" is too overtly fawning. "Nerd" too general.

So if you or anyone has a better term for the sort of ARPG player disgusted and disappointed by the simpler direction the genre has taken since Diablo 3, finding instead satisfaction in PoE's Gordian knots and endlessly challenging permutations, that is neither obsequious nor overtly offensive, please do share.

Until then, galaxybrain it is.

It seems like in your every post you need to defend D4, but who am I to judge. As a "galaxybrain" I'm really glad you have found D4, a game where you can use your full brain potential.

Sadly D4 failed to balance even simplest skill system.
Druid vs Sorc is best example of finest and polished "egg" that is class and skill balance.

Maybe blizz should focus on polishing eggs rather than making games? Seems they're better at it.
PoE player: "I do not condone of profile shaming but if you have a private profile its also considered disrespectful" - I am disrespectful because I want privacy, I value it higher -_-

Saying that Diablo 4 has simplified all choices down so far that the players' choices are meaningless is hardly a defense of the game but okay. I think Mr. Chan is simply pointing out that the target audiences for the Diablo franchise and PoE are very different groups of people, and that's not automatically a bad thing.

But this is general consensus, that D4 is aiming at different audience.
I'm not sure why you bring this up because that is not a point of this discussion.

Thing is, D4 dumbed down choices and even with limited amount of skills, failed badly at balancing it out. As mentioned before - Druid vs Sorc. D4 made even worse job than PoE.

Yeah, unless you're in the wrong group, but maybe not even then. Gotta admit that Bliz is making it pretty easy for me to hold on to 'not buying shit from them again', I'd like some challenge now and then.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Wow. Saying DIV pushes me to my full brain potential when I have been iterating that is its exact opposite purpose, so "normal gamers" just enjoy it and leave the brain potential tapping for real life.

Meanwhile do you know what sort of games a lot of devs play when they aren't devving? Nice. Simple. Ones. Candy crush is quite popular. Yeah, I know. You don't believe me. You don't have to believe me for it to be true. It makes sense if you think about it.

This sort of inability to grasp that games don't have to be some sort of intellectual proof of worth is why Exiles have such a bad reputation. Maybe, just maybe, there is even something a little unhealthy in this approach to gaming? I know I would rather devote my limited brain power to something a tad more...conversation-worthy than a game that for all intents and purposes seems too complicated for the vast majority of those who play games.

But no, you had to go and basically call me an idiot and look exactly like the petty cliche of a person who plays waaaaaay too much of any one game and figures since that is part of their identity it must be a part of everyone else's. Which is, of course, ludicrous.

Way to really reinforce that weirdly simplified image. Super smart, super snobby. Any wonder, man. Any wonder.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

This... You don't speak for me either. Saying "players want this" is just pulling something out of your ass based on people in your personal circle.
