Inconsistent Reactions to "Too Strong"/"Mandatory" Buffs

After the just-announced change to the Adrenaline Mastery and the action taken on Onslaught this league, I also highly recommend developers think about fixing the "Mandatory" status of a few other systems such as Ancestral Totems and Spell Suppression.

Melee cant have any fun. Remember having free pride for like 2-3 days. that was pretty nice.

Anything that could be perceived as fun on attack/phys builds gets insta gutted because of ranged/trap/minion builds that are already broken get to benefit from them as well.

You could give perma adrenaline if your main 6l was a melee phys damage skill and boneshatter would probably still be the only skill people played for the most part.

There is no build diversity in the melee community. Lightning strike was the last really strong all around melee build. If you main marauder right now its either boneshatter or stat stacker. Rage vortex enjoyers dont count either thats not melee.

I do think stance dancing would have sucked just like anc totems, but theyre not removing anc totems and their buffs because they suck to use too. Its a complete put off to do bosses because you have to constantly put totems down. or get the totem wheel for linger on a build thats more point starved every league with passive skill additions time and time again in the fortify wheel and warcry wheel here lately.

I may have got off topic a bit but just a little annoyed. melee needs something.
spell suppression is nowhere near mandatory.

you can stack max res, spell block, etc...

I have mirror tier melee gear on standard, some of it legacy and do less damage than my 20 divine spell chars, have worse clear and die more.

Yes. The stats for that Mastery are now:

Remove Damaging Ailments when you Change Stance
Stance Skills have +6 seconds to Cooldown

You don't want to use it? Ok no problem dont use it, i dont want to use chaos inoculation and i'm not on all the world winning about it.

Now i winne about something stolen from melee.
adrenaline on stance change was even more toxic for melee than it was for casual pathers, the only people who are actually sad are players who already had their macro written to bypass its problem.

as to OP totems definitely are a mandatory buff that needs fixing, spell suppression is not - strong sure but you can get your defences elsewhere.

Stance change, though classified as "Instant", has a different response to left-click (unlike Vortex), whereby it would only change stance once. Even after the cooldown, it still wouldn't change stance a second time until I release my left mouse button and re-click. Therefore, a macro is really necessary. (I recall macros were already common from since the days GC mines was the meta but Detonate Mines still weren't available for left-clicks.)
Tried to find other posts on the forum about the Ancestral warchief skill and this was the only one i could find with activity this year.
I would think more people would be a bit more upset about this skill.

I feel like the core of the "Ancestral issue" is the huge dps loss in not running them.

I've had some friends try their first chars this league and the "Ancestral issue" became clear to even them quite early.

Aside from the damage issues with melee in general, the Ancestral Totems feels to me like a spell or a summon wich is quite unintuitive for a "Warrior type".
Banner skills and Warcries on the other hand, both in flavour, mechanics and diversity, works better for melee builds.

I would love to see Ancestral totems changed, even buffed if builds invest in them, but it would require large changes to the numbers affecting melee skills.


They did'nt use the ancestral warchief in the poe 2 gameplay tho, so that gives me a bit hope for the future :)
