Simulacrum needs to be toned down a bit

i cant finish it on any of my builds,impending doom just has the highest DPS so i thought i can just kill everything fast before they can hit me but its impossible to kill everything fast enough. there are too many monsters spawning all at once every few seconds


i was watching a streamer do it with a minion build. he had mirror tier gear inc mageblood and he could barely do it. he used 5 portals

for simu 30 you need DPS to insta kill everything or the defense to stay alive. Getting the needed defense is much cheaper.
This league I just built a cheap DD necro to do the job.

My build is (was) like 100div other than 1 jewel that isnt really needed and I can do it on 1 (2 if I get unlucky) portal. No Mageblood, no HH, all slightly flawed gear. You just need a better build for Simulacrum. Minions aint it.

Actually Sims are more about damage and clear speed than defense. You can see that by best Sim builds are not tanks but glass cannons, and if you can't clear fast enough defenses won't save you unless you're uber tanky.
What? Glasscannons are the best builds for simu? Are we playing the same game? Because I do like at least 100 simulacrums every league and for last few leagues the best builds for simacrum was and still is phantasmal cremation / dd necro.
They can literally sit afk in one place and spam 2 buttons, they achieve lvl6 rewards without moving and they don't die unless unlucky double boss crit..

Unless you talking about EK ignite then yeah this build is squishy and he need to fast ofscreen stuff or he is gonna die easily.
But if someone need the best simulacrum and he doesn't want to spend over mirror for squishy EK then it's better to build cremation for 50div and all content viable..

isnt ashes of the starts mandatory for that build? thats a 25 div item alone....or can it be done without it?

I would love to know how many people WITHOUT aegis do it... My biased head says it would be less than half, at least.

Sim is 100% about your ability to tank enormous piles of trash for an extended period of time its about the only area of the game where this is ever tested to this degree.

You can obviously run 100% delirious 8mod maps but it doesn't simulate the experience because the monsters won't immediately spawn on you in a tiny arena, its probably 500% of the trash damage you'll take anywhere else in the game.

This makes recovery on block ludicrously effective as the monsters are only lvl 75 and even with as many mods as they get its reasonable to get to a state where you can ignore a vast majority of the trash. You can also do this if immune to stun + an always moving skill like cyclone due to the 100% avoidance you get from moving pretty much.

Honestly I think its good to have this content in the game, they should have a bit more trash focused content and nerf recovery on block though tbh to truly test the builds out. The only thing I disagree with is it shouldn't be a challenge, complete wave 30 of Simulacrum is as daft as making a challenge for tanking Uber Sirus meteor or memory game explosion. In many ways it requires a specific build if you aren't crutching it with Aegis which should rule it out as a challenge IMO.
^I think its fine as a challenge, since those striving for 40/40 are generally veterans to the game and can create brand new characters in a single day. Creating a specific build to do specific content a specific way is the very definition of a game challenge. I actually think the grindy challenges are the challenges that should be ruled out because all it takes is time; it isn't a challenge in any shape and form.

All the challenges should be ben-style challenges: beat x boss with only a weapon equipped, beat x boss with negative resistances, etc. Conditional wins and general wins should constitute all the challenges. No grinds, just specific builds to do specific things.

I think this is where failing to create enough Challenges for the league and thus relying on generic core content makes the entire point of Challenges fail. Esp now that they lean on Atlas re-specs.

When I build. I build for the league. Not a generic lottery Challenge they threw in for space.

Making a character to tackle non-league content during a league is silly at best.
