Yes, 90% of the community is aware of this. You could also include Impale.
Outside some very very specific combinations they fall comically short. Even in those cases front-end Elemental can still be made far better / easier. I think I've wanted to make a Frostfire mage in this game since it started. Eventually I just made my own in multiple mods and people enjoy the playstyle. My own middle finger "Fine I'll do it myself" situation =D If you do digging you can find the mods: Divinity OS2 Conflux, BG DA 2 Frostfire, Troll&Toad D&D 5E Homebrew. I do agree about bleed but the other 3? Firetrap has been meta for like a year now, Vortex is an ever green that's been viable forever and poison? You did see poison seismic trap annihilate ubers for 1 div? Maybe there is an argument to be made for ignite being on the weaker side but i don't see a problem with the other 2. Keep in mind that dot NEEDS to be weaker than front loaded DPS because it offers easy dps uptime.

The only change about dot damage was for poison builds. Everything else works fine since several leagues.
Bleed could use a change cause nobody is playing it. But cold dot is just top meta since leagues, ignite is a strong thing in multiple builds (RF,ea, ignite ele) since leagues. And poison had a decent change with the current league. I would even say they could actually nerf some of them cause most work without any gear requirements. Flames and madness. dot builds that arent poison just have 1 big drawback compared to non dot skills and that is that their dmg is kinda caped at a rather "low" value compared to direct dmg builds this however is just a PoB thing,dot dmg builds arent really much weaker and often are better at killing uber bosses even when the fights take longer their dmg uptime makes up for the lower numbers i mean whats a 50m dps build worth if you can noly dps 0.1sec out of 1 sec because of boss phases and having to dodge boss skills dot skills dont care about that |

Trap, Trap, Trap. Yea, Damn near anything works with traps. Poison only works decent when you're not using poison skills. Cold, Bleed and Ignite pray to break 3-4mil DPS. This by comparison of my last two builds breaking 20mil in 8 days. It's not even close. Storm Rain this league was hilarious. Bigger hit box. Bigger DPS. You could pre-fire so no downtime. I would say small 400% move speed rares were a problem but not with 61% less damage taken on top of 75% evasion 30% armor and others. Just face tanked. Every advantage of a DoT build but with good DPS. Esp against Pinnacles. Crackling Lance in Lake, Avg single hit 3mil at 10cast rate. What is DoT? "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

Dots shit on hit builds until you get to the investment tier where it doesn't matter in many cases, which is about right due to their scaling limits.
Bleed definitely needs a buff though, never really recovered from the loss of the elder mod and seems worse now than ever, I can't even get a decent glass cannon one together using the niche uniques or ascendancy setups the best build bleed right now is summon reaper lol. Some of the none poison chaos DoTs probably need a buff too, soul rend, bane and ED all underperform due to lack of scaling opportunity compared to how good ignite and poison are this patch. |

are you serious? It's literally the last thing that needs a buff.
DoTs are currently one of the most powerful playstyles in the game. Some of the most meta builds this league were ignite EK, poison SRS, vortex/creeping frost cold DoT & RF/fire trap builds. Of these, at least the first 3 are capable of hitting very high dps, close to the DoT cap. The curse rework made DoT builds 2x more powerful because DoT damage cannot penetrate resistance, so increased curse effectiveness on bosses is a huge deal. The irony of a post asking for DoT buff during the league when they're arguably at their strongest - I can't even.. The only DoT that needs buff is bleed, that's it. |

" That is untrue. Death Aura/Caustic Arrow builds got complete gutted by the curse changes as an example. In the past, stacking curse effect was one of the only alternatives to damage scaling in lieu of crit chance/multi; in effect making pure dots rather poor at bossing (do to natural curse resistances), but conversely adept at disseminating trash mods like a hot knife through butter. With the changes made to 3.2, curse effect scaling was nerfed into the ground and thus removed a means of scaling damage for none-hit-based dot builds into the later game. |

" You can't cherry pick one build that got nerfed by curse changes. Literally everyone on gauntlet right now is running temp chains + poison because it's extremely OP and borderline broken at the moment |
