" You have a weird way of asking for help on whose build you should rip off to tank Searing Exarch but I'll bite: If you are trying to tank Incineration, Effective HP and a lot of those other stats don't mean jack. Effective HP takes ALL of your resistance and mitigation for every type of damage into account as well as your recovery, block, evasion, etc. Incineration is only fire damage and it's a single hit that goes through evasion/block/etc. so most of that is worthless. The CWDT Molten Shell will not help you because you need to eat a hit first to trip the Molten Shell. Incineration is one single hit so your Molten Shell won't be up and none of your recovery or any such will kick in. You are either dead or alive after that one hit. If you remove the Molten Shell, your Fire Max Hit (literally the only thing that matters in this case) is only 56,398, so no this build will die to Incineration. |

Looking at PoEDB, to survive a white invite's non-uber Incineration, standing at the foot of the boss, it looks like you'll need to tank a Fire hit of up to 140k damage that can't be blocked. You'll have to look at your build and see what won't actually be active during the hit. Things like "reduced elemental damage taken if hit recently" from Soul of Lunaris might not be active, and CWDT Molten Shell is quite unlikely to have up as well. If you don't have reliable flask charge generation for a boss fight, it's also a bit much to assume you're have Dying Sun up unless you save it specifically to tank this hit. Manually casting Molten Shell is the simplest and biggest "I want to tank the slam" improvement you can make by the looks of things, because Molten Shell's buff at least triples the biggest hit you can take. But, I also don't usually try to tank slams like this, so there might be more factors I'm unaware of and not accounting for. |
