I saw BOT in game!! (proof with youtube)

If only GGG would implement a feature where a valid Captcha (or similar) answer will be required to pass a loading screen, it will atleast stop the growth of botters for a short while, allowing for other security measures to be made.

" Punish the masses for eliminating the few. The bot/multiboxer issue is being far overblown. That's like saying that you should stop every car, everytime they get on and off a highway so you can potentially catch a drunk driver. It's stupid, wasteful, and doesn't even work. The only people it catches is the stupidest of the stupid, which most botters are not. Self proclaimed noob to the core, but still hardcore

Looks like it's just Hillock / Chest farming on the beach. WOnder if they get anything useful doing that other than an occasional legendary i suppose. Not going to get much currency doing that.

" UNIQUES |

" Every time i do a race someone pulls an exalt of Hilock liek dis if u cry evrey tiem |

" I forgot to mention that it would be better to have it with a regular interval, let's say every five loading screens. It WOULD work in the case of fully automated bots. Captcha is quite ugly though, but I am certain there are other possibilities. |
|
" It wouldn't work, I know a lot of the bot writers and they would be able to bypass it pretty easily unless it was difficult for humans to also do it. Captchas only stop the simple bots. PoE requires more than a simple bot. There are two main reasons the bots aren't widespread yet, the randomized maps are not easily read and understood even with a "maphack". Also from what I've heard PoE's code is uglier than sin. Supposedly it is written in C++ by someone that knows C#. Big ugly classes and such that are fairly conventional. Reason that D3 got bots so fast is Blizzard reused a ton of the code from WoW which has been studied for nearly a decade. Self proclaimed noob to the core, but still hardcore

" Bullshit. They had a beta and coders hacked the beta, there was much time between D3 Beta and D3. Same goes for SC2 and the emulation project. On Topic this looks like a really primitive pixelbased Hillockbot to me. The botter most likely changed some tiles so the bot can path near the water. A memory based bot wouldn't need pathing points, it would scan the inventory for currency/uniques stash if some valuables have been found and sell junk. Meaning it would either do stash->Nessa->WP or Nessa->WP GGG can easily confirm that those are pixelsearch based bots by creating different town layouts or make nessa wander around. |
|
" Actually the details of the D3 client were all posted on Ownedcore which I'm am a moderator of and yes they reused a lot of WoW code. Yes they had a fully functioning emulator of the beta prior to release. It was simple to RE the D3 client and packets it was done like as soon as the D3 Beta came out. I remember because I was so impressed, which is why I was so surprised that it took as long as it did to develop a decent bot for it and also that the emulator never really took off after release. Probably shouldn't talk more about it here though, but you are welcome to over on OC if you want. Self proclaimed noob to the core, but still hardcore
