Game feels dull and boring, here's a list of reasons why I quit sanctum today

A example and how changing a core design can impact many layers would be Fortify.

Any DoT based melee is at an objective disadvantage to front-end damage. Shadow and Witch starting points are also now blocked from this core features despite being melee viable.

Because Resistances go negative and Physical cannot, in addition to impale nerfs only a Champion can really pull off pure physical damage reasonably. A Zerker can get the DPS on par but fall considerably short in defense by comparison so it's just an inferior option.

Reasonable damage output due to negative resistances is thus either Chaos, Rainbow, split or some combination of Elemental. This is across the board regardless of the skill or staring point.

There's more though these are the global design flaws preset that come to mind that hinder build diversity. I've had a Bleed Deadeye on hold for (a year?) because I know elemental is superior.

Pure phys is currently in a bad state yes - across the board.
Its not just melee and it doesnt need a change to the core design to fix this.

New auras, heralds or support gems which CANNOT be converted to ele or chaos will do just fine to get the job done.

As soon as those things can be converted or you add stuff on the tree, it will only buff ele/chaos conversion even more and pure phys would still be in a bad spot.

However that doesnt mean the game is in a bad spot.
Its "just" phys scaling. Doesnt matter if we are talking about spells, melee or bows. Its all of them across the board. There are a few exceptions for sure but the majority of builds is better off converting to whatever.

While this is a valid complaint for sure, its nowhere near bad enough to complain about the game being in bad state nor is a good enough reason to complain about lacking build diversity.

There are still dozens perfectly viable builds available.
I feel like if poe had a smoother character progression path than the currency per hour wouldn't matter as much.

As it stands unless you get almost exactly what your build needs you don't progress.

if you get gear for something else, you can

Sell it, Maybe
Make a new character,
vendor it for popcorn currency

I am wondering what GGG thinks about the meta progression of the game and how they will address it.
A game based around currency as fun is always going to be 'unfun' for those who aren't lucky while those who are lucky think the game and the league mechanic is wonderful. RNG should not matter this much, it shows PoE isn't a tailored experience and the only fun people get is through currency.
You neither need to find the exact item you need nor do you have to rely on RNG for currency drops.
Learn to craft and feed items for meta-builds to the market.

If crafting isnt your jam or you are playing SSF, learn how to exploit any given league mechanic for currency and make currency that way.

The tools are all there. Use them.
i feel like yeeting my ass to another game too, inflation is fucked, why no divine shard recipe or harbinger drop?

everything significant is now 20+ divines and that takes a long time to get if your just a chill alch and go-er.

every build needs like 5 defence auras and ends up with lacklustre damage, and the only way around it is 20+ divines per in slot gear. even then you dont feel like you got your moneys worth, im so sick of the words "mana reservation efficiency" fuck off. i dont wanna play 9 auras of exile.

spell supress needs deleting out the game and everythings availible life should just be increased by 50%.

idk games in a poo place. thats only some of the issues i can think of and yes, it might be opinionated but its mine and im allowed it. :)

As much as i want to agree, Zerk has so much damage that it frees (so much) passives for defensive purposes, and to me it's the only true phys option with 2h-axe (the best nodes for phys) as champion doesn't scale as well. The speed also helps stack impale faster, but after a threshold it's indifferent.

Also, physical is just straight shit compared to any other form of damage. As you've said, pen is inexistent and overwhelm is... underwhelming.
Ruthless should be [Removed by Support].
To be fair on a topic of dull and boring...
Even if you don't mind crafting on the side. It's become incredibly obnoxious.

Crafting could be it's own game at this point. Currency, Essences, Delve, Syndicate, Beastcraft, Harvest, Rog, Influences, double influences, Fracture, Lab enchant, Implicit (Corrupt or Eldritch with RNG), Quality Swap. Pretty much all of this is subject to basic Tier rolls.

Many ideal rolls literally can't even drop from enemies.
