Respeccing Atlas Tree Should Be Free Or Near Free

I think it should have been character-specific from the outset, yeah. Keep the earned points account-wide since that’s Atlas progress, but let each character differentiate themselves in this way too. Big win for ‘build diversity’, zero downside.

I'd even be fine if each character had to do each point themselves, I'd agree I'd prefer it account wide (or rather, league wide), but having to retread the ground is the middle ground I'd be okay with letting each character have their own atlas, rather than being forgotten post Atlas because there's only space for one type of chracter in an atlas build at a time.

But without the friction of expensive respeccing it would be impossible to enjoy the game /s

Yeah same; that part makes very little difference to me personally, but I’m sure lots of people would prefer not to re-do their Atlas progress on subsequent characters.

The fact that there's a opportunity/economical cost to respeccing your Atlas tree is a good thing. But the Atlas tree should've been character specific.

If this was implemented the forum would drown in the flood of tears from people complaining that you were forced to play multiple characters every league.

It's already "near free".

That said I'd be fine with character specific trees and/or a way to "save" configurations for easy swapping. Costing currency to change the atlas tree between farming styles is fine, costing tedium is not so fine.

I'd reject this as an arugment because I have learned the Path community with complain loudly about EVERYTHING you do about the game.

Every new league is the worst league that's ever been and will kill the game forever (despite metrics showing a fairly steady, if small, growth of users each league), unlike the last league, which was great and perfect!

So either you just close up shop, call the game good forever, or you just ignore the flood of people who will cry foul at whatever change you're doing.

How is this a chaos sink? How are chaos orbs taken out of circulation due to this?

It would only be a chaos sink if you could change chaos orb to orb of unmaking at a vendor, which i am not aware of.

You are correct. I was thinking it as a "sink" for me as I don't have to convert some of my chaos to divines.

I don't think respecs will ever be free. GGG loves the friction and having players pay for screw ups/change ups/not understanding how things work.

All of the respeccing should be free. The league lasts three months, who the hell cares if get to respec for free. Just like crafting should be easier, we shouldn't have to rely on trade to make money, etc. Leagues should stay leagues and everything should be buffed. All 3 people who play standard wouldn't be effected at all.
