Respeccing Atlas Tree Should Be Free Or Near Free
I love the Atlas tree and being able to spec into mechanics
However the more you play the more you feel like you're stuck farming what you spec'd in until you invest unmakings in respeccing to farm something else. That's actually a problem IMO, you should be able to farm whatever you want whenever you want. Potential solutions: - Free respec for atlas tree - Drastically reduce price of unmakings - Give multiple trees you can swap between - Make a vendor recipe that costs some unmakings to respec your entire tree - Feel free to suggest more This would also be very needed for SSF which many ppl play, even semi-ssf ppl like me who don't wanna spend their time trading Also note that unmakings are 2 regrets but we respec atlas a billion times more than we do skill tree Last edited by akayds2#1441 on Jan 2, 2023, 4:39:56 PM Last bumped on Jan 5, 2023, 8:50:44 PM

The issue becomes more problematic with new characters that might be tuned to tackle different mechanics. So maybe something like a new character adds respec points somehow?
P.S. the Atlas tree is the best enhancement to PoE in a long time! Over 430 threads discussing labyrinth problems with over 1040 posters in support (thread # 1702621) Thank you all! GGG will implement a different method for ascension in PoE2. Retired! Last edited by Turtledove#4014 on Jan 2, 2023, 5:14:55 PM

Or at least personal trees for each character... it sucks respecing everytime I do a group play

" This! The fact that there's a opportunity/economical cost to respeccing your Atlas tree is a good thing. But the Atlas tree should've been character specific. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

i think its fine at it is .
by the time you are bored of your atlas , you should have enough currency to reset it . i sure spend like 700 orb of unmaking this league to change my tree (i dont play much in groups , so i dont know much about changing tree there) Last edited by Delamonica#7854 on Jan 2, 2023, 6:17:25 PM

" This is what I want the most. I wish I could have different trees for different characters. Their diverse styles lends much more differently to different events. My templar does great at blight and it's a ton of fun, but is awful at heist (lots of needing to hold still). My shadow is darty and fast, but lacks the throughput for blight (and turns into vapor if I mistakenly dash through a line), and it's always been an effort in frustration. And there's no way to effectively split the difference between different characters most of the time. So you basically only get one style of character at the end. Giving each character their own atlas means those with the tons of time to invest can self sustain a wide aspect of play, removing the need for multi-accounts (allowing that to be policed more closely for botting), and letting each character feel like an independant enity rather than a stable of faceless things. |

Or just let us save our trees and put at a certain fee like 25-xx orbs of unmaking to swap to a different one.

I think GGG should go one step further beyond
Remove orbs of regret/unmaking respeccing is free add a button to remove all skill points to just click whenever/wherever. just copy the homework from other arpgs. Most players want this. Even turn this feature off the first two weeks of a league so the ladder isn't borked. |

Respeccing is a good chaos sink.
8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

" I agree here, to a point. GGG seems to acknowledge that bossing layouts / mapping layouts required respecs too often so they made changes to the Atlas Tree for 3.20, that was both true, and smart. (although double elder / shaper guardians gone is sad) It's somehow confusing how they didn't consider that many people have specific characters designed to accomplish the same thing. A good clear / mapper, a good bosser, a good delver, and so on. This respec design is player hostile for no reason beyond an arbitrary currency sink. Its not a real opportunity cost if you ask me, as you have already completed a specific task to unlock the point in question, and doesn't really impact you character build much (minus Shrines and Delve nodes) Hell, even the challenges for the league basically require you to spend a couple hundred Unmaking Orbs to accomplish them. They should have a had a "use 400 Orbs of Unmaking" as a challenge category. It's just flat out un-friendly for no reason I can fathom beyond currency sinks, which yeah, pretty on brand. Surely they must realize that there are probably quite a few people that would respec and continue playing if this wasn't an obstacle, or realize they made an error? "Hey going full Blight was a mistake, but I don't have 150c to fix it. I guess I will grind out some ... nah fuck it" Of course if you are rich, like anything in PoE, this doesn't matter, and you can just toss unlimited currency at it, and laugh at the average dude for even having it as a concern. That said I do believe the Atlas Passive system is one of the biggest positive changes they have ever made, and it allow tons of player agency. I just wish they wouldn't punish that agency this way. It could be far cheaper, or as mentioned in this thread, made character specific. I don't necessarily think it should be "Free", but in no way should it be a significant obstacle like it is for the normal Passive Tree and Regrets. Wayyyy different imo. EDIT: And just for record, the atlas passive respec is DOUBLE the cost of a character passive respec, which...
