It's a video game. It doesn't matter if it's nerfed or buffed and there is no conspiracy of them being master manipulators. They think the game will be more fun like this, and that's it.
Of course they manipulate opinions and make hype. Preleague is money season.
You hype, you bite, you dissapointed, you whine, you hype... Eternal cycle of stupidity, copium and bad memory.

That's called projection.

Believe it or not but your personal opinions are not facts nor represent a hivemind of the global PoE community.

The past leagues weren't that bad tbf. The only problem of Poe and pretty much every other game is the ever growing amount of crying zoomers.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Well, one thing should be pretty clear to most long-time players: How enjoyable a "league" is, comes down to the balance/META/core changes at least as much as the league mechanic itself. That should be no surprise, because if the core game is in a good state, there's heaps of fun to be had outside of the league mechanic. So in my eyes, how "good a league looks" is more or less irrelevant.
So I'll always read the manifestos four times as thorough as I watch the trailer. The core game will always be 90%+ of the game. The league mechanic is pretty minor in comparison - but is still an important element in bringing me back to find new problems to solve, new monsters to fight and hopefully new melee builds to play (read: enjoy :P).
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

I mean, Lake introduced into the game a legendary character, Kalandra, which together with the memories of other NPCs were to greatly expand the game's lore.
Scourge made its return with tainted currency, so we were about to be able to, once again, easily 6-link corrupted items.
Harvest got itemized, so we were about to be able to reroll suffixes/prefixes without needing to deal with TFT.
GGG used lessons learned from AN and Sentinel leagues to greatly rebalance AN modifiers to make fighting rare monsters great again.
A massive unique item rework and drop rate rebalance was about to re-ignite the excitement from dropping unique items.
And lake itself was going to offer as-if-maxed-out encounters from old mechanics, so one could experience them all in spite of having only a few on the atlas.
Even now, this would be amazing.
And then Kalandra had about as many lines as Tujen while her story lacked the finale and the ending. The memories are one-paragraph tidbits that repeat four times as one goes through the memory's four maps. Scourge was overtuned, feels like shit to focus on because it stops spawning with the boss, the currency shipped at super-low drop rates and came nerfed to the ground, especially tainted fusings.
Harvest had its most important mods removed.
AN modifiers were the same dumpsterfire they were at the beginning of the Sentinel league, but brought in the loot goblin on top of that.
About 97 from the 100 reworked uniques were vendor trash, which may have been used for leveling, except that the overall 90 - 95 % nerf to unique drop rate ensured one didn't drop any leveling uniques while leveling.
And most of the Lake tiles focused on league mechanics drop nothing of value even to this day.
So... while I do respect GGG's ability to create hype, I find myself sceptical.
Thats a real good point!
Im expecting simply the worst. A few leagues ago it was the total opposite and everything was better than i could image and the all went down the hill

I'd wait until the curse manifesto drops before deciding. Maybe curse on hit rings are going to be removed or curses will be changed to reserve mana.
Core changes >>> new league
Gutting Gameplay Gradually

If anyone sat out the last league or two, this is a very accurate portrayal of 95% of the 'customer complaints' these past few months. The expectations were high, the reality came in quite low.
Will 3.20 be great? We're all going to play and find out :) My monopoly money is on 'yes', they've always fixed things in the past. Imo they've never had two 'bad' leagues in a row, so if next league is bad that will be cause for concern.
