How MF (Rarity) was answered in the FAQ's. The straw that broke the camels back

" Well, knowing if IIQ's and IIR's effectiveness is a continuous line or a set of thresholds would be nice :) | |

" And isn't this the most important part? At least for "the majority" of players (or casual players) that 'some people' (wink wink) are advocating that the game should cater more to? Won't the part of the community that REALLY needs these numbers be able to figure them out together with their spreadsheets? My point? I'm mostly playing the devil's advocate here. But as long as "the general feel" of the game without MF is good enough to have fun and progress, and you know that more MF = better, though with some diminishing returns, why do you need to know exact "break points" and stuff? Did Blizzard release these breakpoints for D2, or did players just play and test the game to find them out? Do the game also need to tell us how much DPS we need to beat every boss? Are player discoveries "outdated"? :P Edit: Reading the comments (and amount of comments) on your link, tells me that we really don't "need" stuff like this, as I know you love numbers, and numbers always tell us the "quality" of something :D (Still sort of playing the devil's advocate here) Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile. " Please read better. Yes I gave an example of players being able to understand diminishing returns and break points from a two decade old arpg. I dont want/need specific numbers like that chart. I would like to understand rarity better in terms of performance. I'd like to know if 28% makes a measurable difference, or not, or how the mechanic works. Does it apply to currency tiers in conversion still? We know ABSOLUTELY nothing on how it functions or is even working as intended. You realize map mods also provide IIQ/IIR, right? MF on gear is good, but higher IIQ/IIR/Pack size from map mods is better.
If you manage to get 100%/1000% IIQ/IIR, most likely you can't solo clear T16 maps. And in party you need quite a bit of effort to be useful - carry needs to have southbound, while everyone else in party stay alive and be there just for xp or something. |

" Are they saying loot pinatas, which result in spiky loot (30 divines, hello) where a thing before 3.19? What timeline is "before 3.19" in their case. 3.17 OG AN? Or even further back in time in 2.x? Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

" No OP didnt. That's you reading between the lines and inserting your own narrative. |

" If you didn't cut out the previous sentence which is what the sentence you quoted is referring too; "If you're able to sacrifice character power for magic find then, you'll find more and better items." Then it would be pretty obvious they're talking about magic find as a whole concept which has been in PoE as long as the mod has. |

" Its much simpler than this, You regulate who has culling-strike in the party and the culler generally has a skill that can rapidly hit things in a wide area, Southbounds is a method yes and im not sure how a carry came into the equation but sure :P Culling strike however has become too acessible outside of the support gem and doing this in public partys is not possible anymore most of the time even if you communicate your build to the party. I can pretty easily make a solo culler on many classes that can clear t16 maps however the dps is going to suffer a bit depending on the class, Rarity gear itself imposes a lot of debuffs upon you such as -40 res for andvarious rings among other iir equipment debuffs as well as low defensive values. 1000 rarity is bonkers but i can see it being achieved with the right equipment. Innocence forgives you
