Remove Chaos shards, insert Divine Shards

It will indeed cause overall inflation, as in divines will lose value compared to chaos and other useful currencies (as opposed to the exalted triple ahegao) and most items...that aren't mid to well rolled uniques or rares. Since they will be much, much cheaper to make they wont end up costing more divines at all.:D

well...what you describe here is the reverse of inflation...It's not the divine thats losing value, its the CHAOS that would be gaining value as compared to the higher currency, or rather all players will have higher buying power and crafters will have less overhead costs on their craft. When goods are cheaper to create and cost less overall that is a healthier economy. Inflation is a loss of buying power, more expensive to create goods, and therefore more expensive prices on goods.

What we have NOW is inflation: the value of the exalt plummeted with no real substitute, and the price of crafting skyrocketed. Less buying power and overall economic strength for buyers, and a much harder and more expensive process for the sellers.

Making the Divine Orb more accessible than it is now will only be good for the game, at least to a point. GGG needs to find that point that they are comfortable with. Right now though, divine orb supply is way below the demand which is a huge problem.

Think of it this way: (numbers are just an example, not trying to be accurate)

Currently, chaos are 1 and divines are 100. It costs a crafter 5 divines (or 500) to make an item. It costs you 500 chaos

If divines were more accessible (but not TOO accessible), this might be adjusted to:
Chaos are 1 and divines are 50. 250 chaos for the same item. Your chaos are essentially INCREASING in value (buying power)

= reverse inflation.

Now...if given enough time (such as Standard *cough* economy), divines that are TOO accessible can lead to inflation down the road but so can the current system. It just might take a bit longer. Since leagues are 3 month, short-term economies, the inflation effect will not be felt at all until the tail end of the league just like always, but in the first few weeks/month of a league the economy will be much more active and thriving.
